It has been three years since my last volume of "Coffee Date" but something in me wanted to pick it back up again. I'm in a super fun season of blogging where I find myself looping back to the beginning but with all the knowledge I learned along the way. Just like how the 90's are making a comeback - a little wiser but still the same ol' 90's. I've been reflecting on this "freedom" to blog in my own time and in my own way and it really comes down to Hilde. In so many ways she has changed me. ... continue reading...

Coffee Date || Volume 6
It's past due for a new volume of our coffee dates. When I left you last I was dealing with all the crazy emotions of knowing that I was about to dive head first into the world of entrepreneurship & being a full time blogger. Now I am a good four months into this new season and oh my, does time fly by fast! I'm pretty excited to be coffee dating with you here at Loyal Coffee Co! It's a brand new coffee shop in Colorado Springs and I am just a tiny bit obsessed with it! I'm sitting in the ... continue reading...
Coffee Date || Volume 5
It's been awhile since we sat down for a coffee date. It always feels too long in between but maybe this feels especially long. I feel like I don't have much too offer in coffee dates lately - besides tears or random confessions about how I am freaking out. "Am I going crazy!? I am right!" I'll exclaim once or twice. In the newest way (because I've totally learned this lesson before in other settings) I am learning that I don't always have to be perfect or put together. I guess when you quit ... continue reading...
Coffee Date || Volume 4
I sit here tonight snuggled up in my thermals with a giant blanket around me. This 60 degree change from our Florida trip to back at home has me all snuggled up. I'm so glad to slow down if just for one evening. Funny thing is that in reality I have a million things to do, but I am practicing letting those things go, handing them all to the Lord one by one. And yes, I mean practicing because I just cried about the pile of clean laundry on my bed that needs to be folded. ... continue reading...

I mean Peppermint, cinnamon, and eggnog are like three of the best flavors of all time. No Joke. And the Biebs, I just cannot help but love him. Side note, his new songs are ... continue reading...
Coffee Date || Volume 2
I scan the room to see if you are already here and I have a conversation with myself deciding if I should go the caffeine route or not. I end up picking the latte because this place always rocks the latte art and I don't want to miss out - I convince myself the coffee will help me be productive and I will not be tired tomorrow with my late night. You're there before I finish the conversation so we say the rest out loud - I guess 27 year olds can't hold their caffeine as well as our younger ... continue reading...
Coffee Date || Volume 1
I twirl my keys in my hand, throwing them in my camera bag after I've triple checked that I clicked the "lock" button for my car. I immediately pat my back pocket to make sure my cell phone is still there and pull it out to see how late I am. It is only three minutes past - I am relived but I'm still speed walking to the coffee shop. I swing open the door and see you sitting at the cutest table in the shop. You always show up on time and I am always rushing in late but you giggle and say you ... continue reading...
a coffee date
Let's have a virtual coffee date why don't we? Where are you seated? I am seated where ever there is a seat! #amiright?! It might just be all the coffee shops in Old Colorado City but I always just look around for the open seat. preferably in a place i can watch most of the other coffee dwellers because, i'll be honest with you, we most likely talk about the people around us and imagine the lives they have. "married 10 years" "friends from high school" "first date" "big sister, little sister ... continue reading...

How to be Vulnerable
ASK ELIZABETH Question: Can you share how to be vulnerable? When I was reading through the list of questions that have come in, this one stuck out to me. In ways because it is kind of vague. Vulnerable in friendships? Vulnerable at work? Vulnerable as an online influencer? Vulnerable in general? Unsure what the real intent was, my mind started thinking about vulnerability in my life. For me that is two main places: Oak + Oats: Here on my slice of the internet I share a lot. I post ... continue reading...

The biggest of them being that 2017 first official year that I get to do Oak + Oats as my full time job. Transitioning into this role as entrepreneur, girl boss, creative has brought a lot of challenges to overcome along with some true gifts. I've been forced (thanks to a sever case of writers ... continue reading...
Top Camera Bags
Having a quality camera bag for your gear is key. Your camera and lenses are important and expensive gear that you want to protect whenever you leave your house with it. I was not super on board with the idea of a camera bag when I first got my camera. It seemed like an unneeded expense and I guess I just like throwing everything into tote bags (it is a problem.) My wise husband wouldn't let me leave the house with my camera without a camera bag so I quickly saved up my money to get a bag. The ... continue reading...
