It’s funny to think that Galentine’s wasn’t a thing before the 2010 episode of Parks & Rec and Leslie Knope’s heart to celebrate “the best day of the year – ladies celebrating ladies!” It was a thing that grabbed the attnetion of women of all ages and Galentine’s parties started popping up everywhere. Now Galentine’s Day goes han-in-hand with the historic St. Valentine’s holiday celebration.
I’ve done several Galentine’s parties over the years, but this year my friend Meredith and I hosted our own Galentine’s brunch with DIY bouquets! We had a simple BYO brunch item and picked up lots of fresh flowers to fill the table and use in our creations! We invited everyone and trusted whoever needed to be there would be able to attend! It ended up being a very snowy day, but still we got together and celebrated these lady friendships!
It was a simple yet magical time as we gathered together as women, sisters, friends, mamas and enjoyed community together! This is very easily something you can do on your own and I encourage you to next year! There is always an excuse to throw a party and it doesn’t always have to be a huge financial cost to you!
PS: Meredith and I are wearing our new favorite twinning Mom jeans! You need a pair too 😉
