A Winter Snow

Every time it snows I want to run outside to play in it. I'm all about getting cozy but after snow time. Which now that I blog means photos in the snow time! Although I've got plenty of snow pics long before I was a blogger or photographer now when it snows, I crave getting out with my camera! Hilde has mixed feelings about the snow. Mostly she hates the cold. Good thing I got her this Quilted Chambray Bear One-Piece to keep her cozy! We also played around with our new camera!! How fun is ... continue reading...

Tips for Transitioning into Full Time Blogging

tips for transitioning into full time blogging

Ask Elizabeth: Any tips for transitioning into full time blogging? I get a lot of questions related to blogging and how I got started. Especially at the beginning of the year when dreams are vocalize and goals are written down. While Oak + Oats isn't necessarily a blog about teaching people how to blog, I do value sharing and passing on what I have learned! I never want people to feel like blogging is this secretive, exclusive, elitist, group of women. Our Baby Book by Artifact Uprising

Oh my goodness. I just got around to editing photos we took in October (lol. #mamalife) and my heart may have melted a tad bit. Hilde was so tiny! I remember this outfit - it is one of the 0-3 month ones and now we are rocking the 6-12 month category. Also, she was a sneaky smiler at this time - we would freak out at any kind of hint of a smile. Now here at nearly 5 months, we can get her to smile at us all the time but these little 8 week old smiles are just the cutest. They say babies ... continue reading...

Homemade Clay Ornaments

Homemade Clay Ornaments

2023 Update: These are still whole but I don't hang them up because they feel too fragile. I tried another method in 2021 and it worked so much better! Click here to see the method I used for my Handprint Ghosts. People keep finding this blog post and I just want to let you know that I think there is a better way now! I am planning on doing this exact craft this week with my kids with the new method. When that post is up, I'll switch out the link here! Until then, order this clay on Amazon (or ... continue reading...

Our Daily Moments January

Tips for Capturing your Daily Moments

January 8th, 2019 Hilde Joy is 2o weeks old today. How it has been that many weeks since I was pregnant? I have NO idea. One of my favorite Instagramers @steph.pollock has a fun series called #thedailymoments and we joined in this week! Our days are a lot of naps, snuggles, laying around, nursing, and snuggling. I notice it even more when taking photos of the day - so many repeat activities! But I love noticing these details and these little moments. Our days may be simple but they are also ... continue reading...
