Hot dog Mummies

Hot dog mummies are one of my favorite holiday treats. I'm not even joking. So classic and so adorable, we make them all season long for a spooky and kid friendly lunch! Also they make a great pre trick-or-treating fuel that is as fun as the rest of the night! What's even better than the way they look, is how easy they are to make! Ingredients Crescent Roll DoughHot DogsEdible Eyes (in the baking aisle) How To Open up the dough and instead of ripping into triangles for ... continue reading...

Boo at the Zoo: A Classic Halloween

This year the Mayberry Five (I guess that is what we call ourselves these days) dressed up like classic Halloween! Hilde really wanted to be a ghost this year, and as much as I tried to convince her otherwise, she stood her ground. Now that I think about it, this happened last year too - Hilde wanted to be Tinkerbell so the rest of us fell in line ;) HAHA! I guess she just has that leadership gene! So with Hilde as a ghost, the rest of us started brainstorming other classic Halloween costume ... continue reading...

Halloween Sensory Bin

Happy Halloween! I'm a big fan of holidays around here! Any excuse to be festive and I am IN. It's just one of those mom things that brings me a ridiculous amount of joy and it works out great because my kids get the benefit of all my holiday love! Last year we did a week of Halloween crafts ( Handprint Monsters, TP Roll Mummies, Watercolor Spiderweb, Homemade Halloween Crayons, Spooky Handprint Ghosts) and this year we are still having fun although I'm not able to crank out as much content. ... continue reading...

These Days are Golden

"But I want to be hereTruly be hereTo watch the ones that I love bloomAnd I want to make roomTo love them through and through and throughAnd through the slow and barren seasons too" The house was dark and quiet(ish), filled with a handful of children that woke in the early hours. To be fair, the sun is starting to rise later & later these days as we inch toward winter, so it's not their fault entirely. The girls feet were making pitter patters as they ran in circles on the wood floors, ... continue reading...

The Harvest Festival

It must be October! The first Saturday of October Rock Ledge Ranch hosts their annual Harvest Festival and we go every year (except the ones we haven't ;) ) I've learned to put it in my mental calendar so I don't miss it like we did in 2019 (I'm still a bit salty about it!) Looking back on each year, it is fun to see how the kids have grown both in height and in number! 2021 - 2020 - 2018 - 2017 - 2015 We are members so events like this are free for us to attend. We pay $50 a year for ... continue reading...
