One Year of Thorin

My baby boy is one year old! Feels like just the other day we were meeting him for the first time but a full year has flown on by! Our #ThorinJohn was the first baby of ours to not grow up on Instagram so he doesn't even need a hashtag name. I'll be honest, It feels pretty good! According to my Instagram, our life stopped after Christmas 2022 but that couldn't be further from the truth (and if you read this blog or see us in real life, you already know that!) With both Hilde & Millie I did ... continue reading...

Our Independence Day Booklist

We went a little all out for 4th of July this year and have a fun Independence Day Booklist to share with you! It may be that Thorin finally started sleeping through the night and I have found myself with unknown (and unremembered) amounts of new energy OR it could be the fact that my pre-school age children LOVE LEARING ALL THE THINGS ABOUT HOLIDAYS. Either way, I fully embraced it because holidays are my thing! We've been trying to rent books from the library for the holidays but it is so ... continue reading...

The Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave

I'm still missing the 4th of Julys we spent in Kansas with fireworks and pretty sparkler photos, but I'm loving our Colorado celebrations with our ever growing family. I think we celebrated Independence Day the longest this year which also made the whole holiday even more fun. We even went all out on the flags and the kids took ownership over the waving! The girls are now big enough to ask questions and learn more about "why" we do things. We read books, made crafts, told stories, and ... continue reading...

June Booklist

I finished seven books in June and ended the month with a couple spilling over into July! I keep cracking myself up with my current Goodreads goal sitting at 309% in completion! I didn't realize how much I would enjoy a good book this year and how much reading I could possibly get done in this life stage. As I dig more into homeschooling, I've been reading even more with my kids which has inspired me to read on my own for pleasure too. We can devour stories in the car, sit on blankets in the ... continue reading...

100 Things I Love, About Me, Spring

100 Things I love Spring 2023

I love when spring finally comes. I love that last snow that is so wet and so heavy but comes before all the buds and blooms. It soaks the earth, giving us one more snow day but melting before the day is done. I love when the wet snows turn into thunderstorms. How the booms of thunder shake the whole house and streaks of lightning stretch across the skyline. I love seeing the storms roll in over the mountains and pour on us before they continue on down the plains. I love when the grass starts ... continue reading...
