As per the Mayberry family tradition, we picked out our Christmas Tree Thanksgiving weekend. Leading up to this weekend, we had been having some unusually warm weather (in the 60s and 70s!) and I was dying to wear my new Lolë Outfit out on an adventure but not ready to pass out from the heat. The day finally came to snuggle up in my new sweater as a winter storm (complete with warnings from the drastic change in temps) rolled in on Thanksgiving day! It was cold (like 10 degrees + windchill) and we didn’t last long but we did find the perfect tree and take a bunch of pictures! Plus, there is something about SNOW that really makes it feel like Christmas!
We had to pick a new tree lot this year as the garden center we loved closed it’s doors this summer. Unlike the last time I had to switch where we bought our Christmas tree, I played it cool this year. Being a mom has changed me and my “it has to be done exactly as I planned” ways! It wasn’t hard to make the switch to Heidrich’s Nursery since we purchased our beloved maple tree from them a couple years back. We loaded up the kids and trekked across town to pick out our tree. For the last 4 years we have had a Concolor Christmas tree. After trying out different tree types in previous years, we discovered that the needles of the Concolor are soft, don’t shed like crazy, look beautiful, and smell great. Upon our arrival and asking the staff, we learned that they didn’t have that type at this tree farm! So we asked them what we could get that fit our criteria and they steered us in the direction of the Natural White Pine. GUYS! I love it EVEN MORE.
Here is the adorable outfit I finally got to wear! I don’t always get new clothes so I tend to get a bit giddy when I do! When I saw this Yana Oversized Pullover on Lolë’s website, I knew I would love to cuddle up with it in our Colorado winters! The Trek Leggings pair so well (it is even what the model wears with this pullover on the website!) The leggings are the most comfortable leggings I have ever owned. I’m pretty sure it is because they are fleece lined so they don’t feel like they stick to your skin! I’ve thrown on the pullover to run errands this last week as the cold weather has lingered and it is exactly what I was hoping for – cozy, oversized, and warm! Plus the colors are just perfection. I got an XS in both the leggings and the pullover! It was perfect for this chilly day! Pretty sure I was the only one who could have lasted longer in the cold – everyone else was DONE with our adventure after a half hour!
We stopped at the hot cocoa stand, took pictures with a yeti, sat by a fire, and picked out the tree! The kids insisted on wearing their Christmas Jammies – for better or worse! HAHA. But it was fun to decorate the tree decked out in festive attire post freezing outing! Our home temperature was much more conducive to the PJ life than the tree shopping was! All in all, a magical day!

What fun you all had at that beautiful Christmas tree farm! (also I’m obsessed with your jacket)
Love this tradition of y’alls!
Thanks so much! It was a fun time and the coziest coat!
