Our Daily Moments

Our Daily Moments December

Thursday December 12th, 2019 We did it! We got in December's Our Daily Moments! AND it is all in the new house! While messy and in progress, we are starting to make this place feel more and more like home! I started in January (hello tiny baby!!) with such high hopes but we missed a couple months here and there because #life! I do have to say that 7 out of 12 isn't that bad and 7 months of memories is better than 0 months of them. I am so glad I took up this challenge to be able to look back ... continue reading...

Our Daily Moments August

August 23, 2019 Remember when I started doing a little "day in the life" series called Our Daily Moments? I was inspired by @steph.pollock to start recording daily moments! She does hers every Tuesday but my goal is just one day a month. And yeah, that goal feel through the cracks May, June, and July. I call it PREGNANCY and the curse of the first trimester! Haha! But really, I totally dropped the ball on it and feel bad. But there is nothing I can do about it now! I did manage to get in an ... continue reading...

Her 1st Birthday Wish List

Someone pinch me - Hilde's Birthday is coming up in less than a month. How did my tiny newborn turn into a one-year-old?! It is crazy. I just cant. I feel like this post could be a million ways of me saying I HAVE NO IDEA HOW WE GOT HERE. I feel like I was just pregnant with her and now I am pregnant with sweet baby #2. Life is crazy these days and honestly I love it. I am so thankful for both these little lives! My mother-in-law asked me if I had a wish list for Hilde for her birthday so I ... continue reading...

Our Daily Moments April

April 5th, 2019 Writing this post makes me realize I need to take my May photos this week! haha. I may have taken all month to get this post up but I took the photos in April so that is what counts! 32 weeks and 3 days old ( I have to look up a baby age calendar every time for this) - I blinked and she grew up! Like but really. Where did my newborn go?! 1: Morning! Just hanging out while mama makes her breakfast. Hilde already got hers when she woke up! I'm always starving after nursing ... continue reading...

Decorating & Decluttering for the Holidays

Decorating & Decluttering for the Holidays

Thank you Facebook Marketplace for sponsoring this post. There’s something for everyone! When I went to decorate for Christmas this year, I had to move around some stuff that we had put in storage through the year. None of it is really junk, and that is why we are holding onto it, but I realized we just have extra stuff sitting around and cluttering up our house. As I pulled out the 4 boxes (and we just keep adding every year), I realized that all this couldn't go out without a little purge. In ... continue reading...

My favorite Target Items for the Home

With baby on the way, nesting has set in and it is not just the nursery that is benefiting from it. We've finally updated our bedroom and some other spaces in our home. While I tend to buy bigger items (like furniture) from other places, Target is our go-to for the little details. All nine of these are in my home (some multiple times) and are classic pieces for the house! I wanted to share them with you this Thursday Links because I always get asked about these items in photos - the floating ... continue reading...

Baby Registry Items Vol. 3

Happy Thursday! As the days come closer to our little girl's due date, we are gathering more things from her registry and getting ready for her arrival! Today's Thursday links will be a continuation of Baby Registry Vol. 1 & Baby Registry Vol. 2 as there are a lot more than 9 things on our baby registry! haha! Willow Pump - $480 I have been doing a lot of research on breast pumps because I don't have traditional insurance that just gives me one. I stumbled upon the Willow Pump and I loved ... continue reading...

Our Baby Girl Nursery Inspiration

The nesting bug has set in full fledged! When I was in the depths of my first trimester sickness, I couldn't even imagine having the energy to think about her room, let alone the energy to actually do it! Bruce and I were talking that day and while pregnancy has it's aches and pains, it is nothing like week 6-12 of my pregnancy. And in fact, what I thought I would never forget, I am starting to! I find myself saying "It wasn't that bad!" Which is crazy because in it I thought I could never have ... continue reading...

Copper Makes It Better

This post is sponsored by Pernod Ricard, but the content and opinions expressed here are my own When we first moved into our home, one of the first things I wanted to add to the living room was a bar cart. I wanted something fashionable yet functional. I wanted something we could gather around with friends, try new things, and celebrate life's moments. I got that bar cart and it sits in my living room and it does just that. Recently I added the most luxurious barware to our collection - a ... continue reading...

How to be Vulnerable

How to Be vulnerable in friendships

ASK ELIZABETH Question: Can you share how to be vulnerable? When I was reading through the list of questions that have come in, this one stuck out to me. In ways because it is kind of vague. Vulnerable in friendships? Vulnerable at work? Vulnerable as an online influencer? Vulnerable in general? Unsure what the real intent was, my mind started thinking about vulnerability in my life. For me that is two main places: Oak + Oats: Here on my slice of the internet I share a lot. I post ... continue reading...

Making it a Meaningful Father’s Day

Twenty-nine years ago my dad was celebrating his first Father's Day. I was a month old and probably stinkin' adorable. He then became not only my father, but the father of two other little girls and a boy. And those girls all got married and added three son-in-laws to the party. Above and beyond, he has been a father figure to so many - an outstanding feat from a boy who never met his father until he was 18. Basically my dad is a super hero ;) This year I thought it would be fun to do ... continue reading...

How to be Authentic Online

How to be Authentic Online

Authenticity. It currently is one of the buzz words of our generation. We want it. We look for it. We long to be it. We live so much of our lives online. As a lifestyle blogger & photographer my life is my brand. Where does my life end and my business start? There is no longer a clear difference between my work life and my home life. So much of it is intertwined. This causes a rift with authenticity and I've walked through it before. The end of 2014 was hard. It was so hard. I shared what ... continue reading...

Printing Photos in the Digital Age

Why you should still print photos in the digital age. Print & frame your favorites with Keepsake!

Thank you so much Keepsake for sponsoring this post & filling my home with beautiful memories!  It is no secret that I am obsessed with photos. I've got an Instagram packed with too many and a blog filled with posts a million pictures long. Every time that I take my camera out, I can easily click away - taking hundreds (literally) of photos - to edit & organize them at home and upload them to the blog (and social media.) Then I move on. While it is a wonderful opportunity to ... continue reading...

Pops of Fun for Your Gift Wrap

Add pops of FUN to your gift wrap this year! Gift Tags are almost essential when it comes to Christmas Wrapping and if you are feeling up for something a little different, I want to share with you some ways you can spice up your gift wrap! (click through to read more!) @burtsbees #ad

Thank you Burt’s Bees for sponsoring this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I’m practically almost done with all my Christmas shopping. I love to get it done earlier than later so that I can come home, wrap my gifts, and get them under the tree. A full tree brings me so much joy and really is the cherry on top of (or under ;) ) the beautiful Christmas tree that sits in the corner of our living room. The other day I was at Target and I saw the Holiday display of Burt’s Bees on the ... continue reading...

How to Throw a Festive Sweater Party

How to Throw a Festive Sweater Party - with Frito Lay #ad

Thank you to Tostitos for sponsoring this post. #ad I love Christmas. I really do. There is just something so magical about it. Of all the holidays ever, this one you get to celebrate all month (or even for two months if you are me and cranking the Christmas jams Nov 1st ;) )Throwing a Christmas party is a great way to get your friends & family together to celebrate but often the idea of planning a party & the feelings of needing to be the perfect host can get in the way of inviting ... continue reading...

Messy hearts & Messy homes

It is almost the middle of October and I was hoping my life would slow down a little. Remember when we started a summer project called finishing the basement? Yeah, it is still going. I guess we can start calling it our autumn project now. We just got home from Home Depot and are hoping that the carpet will be going in at the beginning of November which will be the last of it. Finally. ... continue reading...
