Christmas, Gift Guide

Gifts for the T.Swift fan (in all of us)

It is no secret that I am a T.Swift fan - I bought this album (the extended one) when it came out, have shamelessly (except that one time at camp Hanley) blasted Taylor and sung along to every song & every album, and I have even followed her fashion advice (totally just chopped my hair off like her yesterday and I am thinking about trying to rock the red lip but still too nervous!) Truth is, I am not alone. It seems to be that when I buy an album it goes platinum (hello 1989 & ... continue reading...

Our Christmas Tree Hunt

Bruce and I started a new tradition when we got married. Actually, a year after we got married because our first Christmas tree was a fake one I picked up at Goodwill and didn't love. Bruce and I had grown up differently in the tree department. My parents always had a fake tree in the garage that we brought out the day after thanksgiving - no fail. Bruce's family always had a real tree that they picked up from the local grocery store and set up some time after thanksgiving. When I went into ... continue reading...

Winter Layers

When it snows here it may not be the best idea to hop in the car and try to do donuts at every turn (ahem, Bruce) but that doesn't mean you need to stay cooped up inside! When we had the first real snow of the year (and 0 degree weather) we thought a little walk around the block would be fun! Bruce and I bundled up and started walking around the neighborhood. I put on some of my favorite Athleta winter wear and ... continue reading...

The Hard Part of Blogging

When blogging is hard - the hard part of blogging

There are so many benefits and joys to being a blogger. I love the challenge and thrill of learning, growing, stretching, writing, sharing, photographing, and posting. But there is a hard side. Just like there are many joys, there may be many aches - the comparison, the disappointment, the not pleasing everyone, the consistent push for more and for better. I guess even writing this post is one of the hard things about blogging because the thing that I find the hardest right now is authenticity. ... continue reading...

Week's End

Week’s End

SNAPSHOTS:1. Wreath me! I just love, love, love real wreaths and I got one this year! I also picked up a beautiful, fat, and full Christmas tree from Rick's Garden Center. We have made it a Mayberry tradition to go there and we love it! I'll leave you with a fitting quote, "Are we out of the woods yet?" - Taylor 2. I love Colorado Winters. 3. Christmas time is here! I put up the fatty Christmas lights because they make me feel like I live in a ginger bread home! 4.  I have my Naptime Diaries ... continue reading...
