I waited until the last moment to write this blog post to see if Hilde would be here before or after this date. The photos were taken August 13th in the afternoon and I am writing this now at 5 pm MT. So baby girl could still show up in the 12 hours before this post goes live but I’ve got to write it at some point 😉 Did you know that 95% of babies are NOT born on their due date?! That means if you were born on your due date you are one of the 5%!!!

The not knowing exactly when she is coming is the crazy part for me. It really is just waiting. I’ve been wandering around the house getting random little things done before she comes.  It is so funny to think that at any day now I won’t be pregnant anymore and instead I’ll have a little baby! I am such a planner and it is so hard to envision the future – I have no idea what Hilde looks like or will be like and so I am having the hardest time imagining what these next weeks will look like!

It is mind-blowing really!

The closer I get to labor & delivery, the more I am in awe of pregnancy and birth! I’ll be 100% honest and say I am not looking forward to the birthing process, but the fact that a little baby has been growing in this big, round belly and soon will take her first breath outside of my body after 40+ weeks is crazy! The Lord has been knitting her together in my womb – intentionally, beautifully, and wonderfully. How funny is it that pregnancy & birth – the way we ALL come into the world, something so common with 360,000 births in the world daily – can be so magical and wondrous?! I cannot get over it. It feels crazy but it is normal.

I couldn’t let August 14th go by without mentioning our due date. This date has been in my head since January 5th at our first doctor’s appointment. The Lord knows her birthday and when she will make us a family of three, so we’re just trusting, praying, and waiting! We cannot wait to meet you!
