Thank you Walls Need Love for sponsoring this post.
We have been wanting to upgrade our main level guest bathroom for some time now. When I first got the itch to make it over I went with a neon salmon that was too bright for the space. I still had the 80’s construction grade vanity that I tried to hide with fabric and backstage movie star light fixture – it wasn’t one of my favorite projects. Sometimes I get kind of down when a project doesn’t go as planned (or when I don’t have the money to do what I envisioned), so it just kind of stayed. A million other projects took priority, but we finally got back to this bathroom. This time we did it right!
First things first, the vanity needed some changes. Because of the tight space, the vanity was created to fit exactly the space. We also didn’t want to assume there was tile underneath to switch it out (good news, there wasn’t so we saved ourselves some heartache!) We desired to just paint it white (clean & fresh) and get a new top & sink. We love the one that we found and although it took awhile to arrive in perfect condition, it finally did and was perfect! We also ripped off the mirror (which was easy because it wasn’t glued down) and switched out the light fixture. After a little cleaning & spackle work, we got the walls prepared for the grey paint.
Painting over the neon/pink/salmon color cooled this room down so quickly. It became a lot more inviting. Once everything was put in place, we started adding the details that make this room my favorite room in the house right now (no joke, sometimes I just walk into this bathroom and wash my hands because I like it so much). I love bold, I love pink and I really wanted a way to bring that to this room (without making it the wall color!) I found the A Bit Hawaiian wall paper on Walls Need Love and fell in LOVE! This is not our first time using Walls Need Love (Our Hallway, Laundry Room, and Photo Studio) and it is not our last. We love how easy it is to set up. It is best when you have a second set of hands, but it probably took us an hour tops to get this wall up! It makes such a statement in such a short amount of time! We have totally jumped on the wallpaper train – especially the Walls Need Love wallpaper train that makes it not only easy to put up but also easy to take down (and move around as much as you want as you try to line things up perfectly!!!)
The Wallpaper MAKES this room and everyone has been oohing and awing over this! We’re so glad it is finished (it was a two weekend project) but the results are SO worth it!
