.... and the family costume is, PETER PAN! We threw out several ideas leading up to October and we were having a hard time picking which idea to move forward with & start creating. We always love a good family costume and have done Winnie the Pooh, Jurassic Park, Harry Potter, & Wayne's World in the past. And I always love time to thrift, make, find, and create some homemade-ish Halloween Costumes for us so we typically start the Halloween Costume ideas early! The year we did Mickey's ... continue reading...

How to Celebrate the New Year without Staying up until Midnight in ColoraDo Springs
If you are anything like me, you will not be staying up until midnight this year to watch 2022 come. Don’t get me wrong, I love celebrating all the holidays but as a 30-something mama of toddlers, I don’t have the energy to party that late into the night. And for sure my sweet girls will be tucked into bed long before the clock strikes midnight! But just because we don’t actually see the clock change into the new year doesn’t mean we cannot celebrate the season! I wanted to share some tips ... continue reading...
Happy 2nd Birthday Hilde!
She done did it. Our Hilde Girl turned two. Was it really a year ago that I was putting all her monthly photos into a collage to share on her first birthday blog post?! Well that went fast! HAHA. But really, we have a two year old and my heart could about burst! She is kind, funny, energetic, curious, and in love with Elsa & Anna! Things I want to remember about her now: She uses both hands to show that she is two years old (see photo evidence below. She loves to sing along with music ... continue reading...
Our Daily Moments JUNE 2020
June 23rd 2020 Whoa. Turns out it is August and I got a bit behind on my Our Daily Moments posts #typical. The good news is that I'm only behind in the posts here on the blog and not the photos themselves! Last year with baby Hilde and being preggo we missed a couple months entirely. This year I'm doing sooo good! So go me! 1 & 2: Millie has been waking some nights around 5 am. We've been bringing her into bed with us to nurse and get a couple more hours of sleep. Hilde went ... continue reading...
Enjoying the slow
I've been catching myself enjoying these slow, quiet days. Both slow and quiet referring to my lack of plans and general obligations out of the home and not my two beautiful girls (because they are neither slow nor quiet!) Hilde can (and does) run circles around me and the house all day long and our Millie girl is growing faster than I want her too. And obviously a house with a 6 month old and a toddler is more on the loud side of things. But these walk around the block, play in the sandbox, ... continue reading...
Winter 2020 in Photos
So I've been making my yearbooks for 2018 & 2019 *yes, I know it is 2020!) I made them for 2016 & 2017 and then life got crazy. I kept wanting to make them but really never sat down to start. I got real motivated this year upon realizing I was two years behind and none of my yearbooks include either of my girls! I've been going through all my photos month by month to put them together and found so many photos that I never edited let alone shared or printed anywhere. I like carting my ... continue reading...
Our Easter
Easter itself brought us snow and 20 degree temperatures but the day before we were outside all day in the 70 degree weather! You can even see that storm rolling in! HAHA. Millie turned three months old (you can see the official post here) so we had to take those montlhy photos. Like always, it turns into a family affair! I love these photos of our days this weekend. This beautiful view is a short walk from our house which makes me feel so spoiled. This Easter is nothing like normal yet so ... continue reading...
Our Daily Moments March
March 31st, 2020 Anyone else having a hard time remembering what day it is since being quarantined? Even more than before I have no idea what day of the week it is let alone the date. I kept meaning to do an our daily moments for March (the never ending month) but kept forgetting to have my camera out for the whole day and I kept telling myself there was more time to do it. Then I realized there was only one day left of the month so I made sure the camera was ready to go and finally captured ... continue reading...
The New Normal for Monthly Photos
We did monthly photos for Hilde and I shared them all in her 1st birthday blog post! When I found out I was pregnant with baby #2, I made a vow to keep taking pictures! I didn't want to have tons of photos of Hilde and none of Millie (you know the classic second, third, forth child problem) and that starts with those monthly photos! So we've been taking them so far & a billion more too! I'm pretty trigger happy when it comes to my camera these days - I'm sure a lot of it has to being ... continue reading...
Winter Bucket List
Believe it or not, Winter just started! Here in Colorado it can so often feel like Winter starts with the first snow in October but the calendar says December 21st - the shortest day of the year! So today, just says after Winter has started, I'm sharing my Winter Bucket List with you!! We're also going to do a quick recap of my Autumn Bucket List! Spoiler alert, it didn't go as planned but that's okay! Winter takes us into March so while a big one on my list this year is have a baby, I'll ... continue reading...
What to do if you’re Stressed during the Holidays
I heard a radio commentator say that the holidays are the most stressful time of year and that they're already feeling stressed out and it just really rubbed me the wrong way. The holidays is not about stressing yourself out it's about spending time with the people you love and cherishing the end of the year. Too many people spend the holidays strep I don't think you need to live like that or should look like that. So here are my tips for when you start feeling stressed out this holiday ... continue reading...
Trick-Or-Treat
These photos of Hilde were too cute not to share! We took her out trick-or-treating on Halloween night with her cousins after a family dinner. Bruce's parents neighbors go all out for the holiday so we made sure to go to their house and a couple others near by. She loved holding her bucket and walking up to the door looking at all the decorations but when she got to the front door, she turned around before getting candy! The lady came out to make sure Piglet still got some! It was so cute. I ... continue reading...
Autumn Bucket List
I did a thing! I made an Autumn Bucket List! Fall isn't even here yet and I already am afraid I'm going to miss it! I was just telling Bruce that we're two weekends into September and I need to get things on the calendar asap or it will be Winter before we know it! That is the ENFJ & Enneagram 7 in me! Being dramatic, wanting all the adventures, and needing to plan them to make sure they happen! I am a list maker. I am currently sitting at my computer with a pile of sticky notes stacked ... continue reading...
Her 1st Birthday Wish List
Someone pinch me - Hilde's Birthday is coming up in less than a month. How did my tiny newborn turn into a one-year-old?! It is crazy. I just cant. I feel like this post could be a million ways of me saying I HAVE NO IDEA HOW WE GOT HERE. I feel like I was just pregnant with her and now I am pregnant with sweet baby #2. Life is crazy these days and honestly I love it. I am so thankful for both these little lives! My mother-in-law asked me if I had a wish list for Hilde for her birthday so I ... continue reading...
What to do near Colorado Springs in the Fall
Ask Elizabeth: What are some fun things to do in & near Colorado Springs in the fall? Fall is my favorite season. Well, I don't know if that is true. I love all the seasons! haha. Probably the most true statement is that the next season is my favorite season as a true 7 on the enneagram who is always looking for whatever comes next! But regardless, I have a lot of love in my heart for the autumn season. Here in Colorado it comes a bit sooner than other locations because of our high altitude ... continue reading...
Maternity Wardrobe Staples
Today on Thursday Links we're talking about maternity staples! I am pretty sure I naively though that my undershirts and classic t-shirts would work as I went into pregnancy. I was quickly informed by my belly as I put on a white v-neck a couple weeks ago that they wouldn't no longer work for me. My belly kept peeking out and I realized why all those maternity shirts were so long - the shirts that used to always work were now WAY to short! ... continue reading...
How to Make New Traditions (& keep the old)
ASK ELIZABETH Question: Do you have any new holiday traditions or do you just do your family ones? Now that I'm older & married I feel like I want some of our own. Traditions you say? I can talk about traditions forever! I am a tradition queen. Make new traditions but keep the old, one is silver and the other gold (sung to the tune of a girl scouts favorite ;) ) Traditions around the holidays are very dear to me and make this season so much more richer. I know exactly what too look ... continue reading...
Nurturing Wonder
Thank you CLIF Kid for sponsoring this post. Be sure to check out the new CLIF Kid Zbar Filled and encourage your kids to get outside and play! Every child is born with the desire to learn. Babies put everything in their mouths, toddlers try to repeat new words, and 3-year-olds never stop asking "why?" That child like wonder and pursuit of knowledge is built in. Sometimes along the way we can lose that hunger for knowledge. It can be because of hard times in school, life's stressors, or the ... continue reading...
