Maternity Photos in Joshua Tree

maternity photos in Joshua TreeWhile we were in Joshua Tree, Amy convinced me to do some maternity photos. I’ll be honest, it wasn’t too hard to be convinced, but I was a bit worried about looking naked underneath this beautiful lace dress! Just FYI – there was a nude slip that went under the lace part! hahah. I was 23 ish weeks in these photos and now I am 35. A lot of belly has grown since then but I still love these sweet captures of the bump. At the time, my belly felt so big and pronounced. Also, I felt SO pregnant and I love that I can document these moments to remember forever.

I taught myself (and keep teaching myself) how to be a photographer because I value capturing the everyday and recording moments through film! While Bruce & I do a lot of our own photography (nearly all the photos you see on the blog). We also think it is super important to book photographers for special life events and photos together (see here & here). That is why I love and value working with other photographers too!

We’ve never lived in the same city or state but we spend a lot of time chatting on Google hangouts and planning ways to collaborate together. A couple years ago we all met up here in Colorado and this year I went to meet her in San Diego! Speaking of that Colorado trip – I found these photos Amy took of me on that trip! She always makes me wear fancy dresses 😉

The moral of this story is to invest in photography. I LOVE these photos! I love the dress too. I found a similar one in light blue I almost got for my maternity photos but ended up with something entirely different in the end…but these make me wish I’d gotten that one instead!
