When I started October I knew it was going to busy but what I did not know was just how busy it would be! It was an emotional whirlwind of life and I spent much more of my free time sleeping rather than working on my blogging goals. I think that is why making monthly goals is so important. You always have something to be intentional on but you can just push them all to the next month if you are feeling a little overwhelmed!
November is birthday month in these parts. I’ll probably send more birthday gifts and attend more birthday parties than any other month of the year! One of those November babies is my husband Bruce and I always love to make his birthday a bigger deal than he wants 😉 I also plan on soaking up the holidays so my goals might fall into my favorite category this month – people!
1. YouTube
So I totally started working on this space but I have so much to learn and so far to go! It is kinda exciting really, I feel like I flew in a spaceship and now am discovering new words! I watched a couple of super helpful YouTube videos to figure out how to organize my space (like this, this, & this) and I posted a couple more videos. I am proud of the dent that I have made but this will also be on my November list!
2. Read one chapter of the Circle Maker (baby steps)
Sigh, I had no time for extra reading this month. Even though I did start reading The great Divorce by CS Lewis….
3. Clean, Reorganize, and Paint the master bathroom
Guys! This is the best thing in the world because this goal is checked off but not of my doing! While I was in Arkansas for my sister’s wedding, my husband (who flew out at a later date) cleaned, painted, repaired, and built new shelving for our master bathroom! I even made a video in the finished room and shared photos taken in the bathroom for my winter hair post!
4. Start a New Class
Nope. I had no time to sit down and even think about a new class to take! This goal might sit on the side lines for awhile… like maybe until 2015.
NOVEMBER GOALS
1. Film, Edit, and Upload two more Videos to my YouTube:
It is easy to get really discouraged when I think about “creating & advertising” my page. There are so many great YouTubers already out there and I am starting from scratch with everything! But at the same time, I love that there is so much to learn and I love a challenge!
3. Enhance my YouTube Page:
You tired of YouTube goals? I promise, they will not all be like this! I just really want to work on making it feel like an extension of Oak + Oats! Change up the header, make a little into video, find a common font & theme for all my videos – things like that! A little organization can go a long way!
3. Make Bread from Scratch: I bake randomly and sporadically but lately I have been craving fresh baked bread. I really think this is something I can get into, so I am going to try out a loaf or two and take a couple slower placed days off with the smell of baking bread filling my kitchen!
4. Take Time for People:
I love goals, dreams, challenges, and adventures. It is easy for me to spend my free time learning, writing posts, responding to emails, etc but I really want to make sure to be intentional this month. I want to let myself be okay with a post going unwritten or a goal being pushed back. I want to make sure to play games with my husband and drink coffee with my friends. I’m going to let myself enjoy the holidays!
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
I love your goals, Beth! You go girl!
I love the smell of freshly baked bread, but rarely have enough time to make it. Sounds like a great goal.
I think it's awesome that you're branching into YouTube. I've been wanting to do the same thing, but I have a billion other things that are on my list first. I'm looking forward to watching those videos that were helpful to you!
Yes! Take time! Schedule a day off or a morning just for blogging!
Okay! Thanks 🙂 eeps! I am excited!
Love you too!
Thanks! I totally know what you mean! You really need to do one thing at a time!
Thansk!
Thanks for your constant encouragement!
Thanks so much Jenna! You are very kind & encouraging!
