Life flies by. Sometimes the days – even weeks- feel long but the years are short. Not only are my babies growing up before my eyes, but I graduated college a decade ago and have been married to Bruce nearly 8 years! Those days flew by too!
The other night Bruce and I sat on the couch while we took turns holding Millie on our chests (she loves sleeping that way!) and we went down the rabbit trail of Google Photos. Not only have we got much better at photography over the years, but so have our phones! Turns out those awesome phone pictures from 2011 are not as awesome these days (talk about wonky white ballance & quality!) But all that reminded me that time doesn’t slow down, and it is so fun to look at old memories – reguardless of how picture perfect those moments are.
Often I get comments on my photos and blog posts (especially my Our Daily Moments posts) about how they are excited to take photos like this when they have kids. Yes, having kids is a great time to take photos but so is before! Those bonfires, camping trips, game nights, and date days are photo worthy too.
Sometimes I get sad that I didn’t document more of our newly wed days or my time in college, but dwelling on that isn’t going to solve anything. Taking pictures now will prevent me form saying the same thing in the future. So I try to capture our lives in our current season so that we can look back and remember today.
So take those phone pictures or finally learn to to use your camera. These days are precious and this season of COVID-19 is historical. Have some photos to look back on. Whether you have babies or not!
Also if you didn’t already know, I have a SUUUPER low stress photo challenge called Our Daily Moments. Sign up here to get a reminder to set aside a day each month for capturing your daily moments and also get some tips and tricks for capturing your own photos!
These are super cute 🙂
Thank you so much!!!
Yes! I don’t have kids yet but love taking photos. We have hardly any from our before college years so I try to capture as many as I can!
