It is our first Our Daily Moments with Millie! How sweet! It is also the first month of 2020 and I am hoping to get in Our Daily Moments for all 12 months in this year!! I have very few goals this year so I really think this one can be accomplished! As long as I don’t get pregnant again…
I started this series last year because with babies (and without!) it is so easy to let life fly by. I want to celebrate the everyday and the now but I don’t think to get out my camera before I unswaddle my baby in the morning or when I go pick up my toddler from her nap. Snacks, messes, and car rides are not my go-tos when it comes to taking my camera out.
The idea is that once a month, you leave out your camera the night before and cart it with you throughout the day. Taking pictures as you go of the most normal things. Things that you may feel like you do over and over again or see on repeat but looking back will remind you of the beautiful details of that season. One year ago, our January daily moments are VASTLY different from ours this year. Looking back on them this now took me down memory lane. I already forgot what that season looked like – I can’t believe all the naps! 😉
Want in? Join us! Our Daily Moments is all about capturing your every day moments in a non stressful way so I started an email list where I will send you monthly reminders to make it happen! Plus I send a nifty download with my tips & tricks for making this day easy and fun! If you want in on it, just click here!
1-7: The girls woke at the same time today. Bruce went to get Hilde from her room and I got Millie from the bassinet. Hilde brought in a couple of her Legos to show to Millie (she LOVES saying good morning to Millie) and I love that post swaddle stretch! I stayed in bed to nurse Millie and Bruce and Hilde went downstairs.
8 – 12: Watching YouTube with dad and eating breakfast. Millie and I come down before dad has to leave for work so we get some family time before he heads to his office!
13- 16: Hanging out in the livingroom while Hilde plays and Millie has some awake time between sleeping & feeding. We also got Hilde dressed for the day because breakfast is messy!
17 & 18: Playing in the girls room. Hilde loves to sit in Millie’s crib with her so if I am feeling brave, I let her!
19-21: Lunch at Chic-Fil-A with dad! Hilde can crush a kids meal and has the best time waving at all the other people in the restaurant!
22: Took the girls to Safeway to grab some groceries. Love that my Uppa Baby Vista can fit both my toddler and my sleeping newborn in her car seat while also having room for groceries. When I was a kid, I remember going to this very grocery store with my mom and she would let us pick out a fruit leather to eat while she shopped. I did the same thing for Hilde and it felt real full circle!
23: Millie likes to be carried in the carrier and I am so thankful! It helps so much to have my arms free!
24-27: Our neighbors made us a meal after Millie was born, so we took Hilde’s car on a little drive to the neighbor’s house! While we were there we went to meet the chickens! Our new neighbors are so welcoming and kind and love our girls (which is so fun!)
28-31: Just a bunch of photos of Millie sleeping on the couch with me while Hilde naps in her room! Call the Midwife is on in the background and I am so bummed I finished all that is on Netflix! I just can’t find a good nursing show anymore!
32 – 35: Hilde woke up from her nap and is doing some post nap reading in Millie’s crib! She wanted me to pick her up from her crib and move her to Millie’s where I had Millie laying so I could carry Hilde! Haha! Just so in love with her baby siter!
36&37: Dinner time! She found her hat in the basket by the door and wanted to wear it while she eats! We are huge fans of Once Upon a Farm fruit pouches and she eats one almost every evening while I finish getting dinner ready for everyone!
I can’t wait to do this when we have kiddos. It’s such a cute idea!
Or right now!! I wish I had more photos from our lives before kids!
Cute pics! And watching YouTube is always fun
I love love love this.
Those little glimpses are so beautiful and y’all get so much fun time together! Those chicken pictures are precious, and millie’s eyes are just gorgeous!
I wish my life was more interesting, but right now it’s early mornings followed by lots of alone time so I would love to capture more day in the life when Eddie gets back home and we can do the normal things together again.
