Guilt Free Afternoon Snack Two Ways

Have you heard of ProYo? I just discovered them the other day at King Soopers when grabbing groceries for our family getaway to the mountains last weekend (see here!) ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Creams are just like their name suggests – guilt free indulgences. As summer comes comes upon us so do the warm (aka hot) days. Ice cream is an essential part of summer. Growing up I have fond memories of eating ice cream cones on the back porch and trying to lick up all the drips that rushed down the sides. The ice cream trucks are part of the soundtrack of summer and new finding creameries is one of our favorite things to do on vacation.

Alas, ice cream isn’t the best thing to eat on a daily basis 😉 That is why I was so excited to try ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream! I picked up three flavors (because who can only pick one?!) and was pleasantly surprised – it tastes good! I love that not only are they a high protein snack, but they are also a good source of fiber, low-glycemic, non-GMO ingredients, contain no artificial ingredients, soy-free, and gluten-free.

Today I want to share with you two simple ways you can enjoy an afternoon power snack/ treat this summer without going back on your promises for a healthy summer.

Ice Cream & Fruit

This is a classic favorite of mine. Treat your ice cream like you would yogurt and add some fresh fruit to it! I took a scoop of Vanilla and a scoop of Blueberry Pomegranate and added strawberries. Keep an eye out for what is on sale at your local grocery store or farmer’s market. Take advantage of eating the fruit in season. Sit on your back porch and enjoy a nice afternoon snack!

Ice Cream Float

Ice cream floats are another favorite of mine. Sometimes it is just fun to be able to drink your snack! For this easy protein packed snack, I did two scoops of ProYo High Protein Low Fat Ice Cream. I added some strawberries (since they are on sale at King Soopers) and filled the glass up with sparkling water. Add a fun straw and you are good to sit on the back porch and enjoy the sunshine!
