Week's End

Week’s End

SNAPSHOTS:
1. Philippians 1:6 is my verse for this year. I am excited to share with you more this week about that, but it was wonderful collaborating with Naptime Diaries to get this verse into print! I felt a little crazy and wild taking this beautiful canvas out into the snow, but I wanted to document it. Plus, it was SO beautiful outside, I just couldn’t help it. If you missed their Verse of the Year collection, you need check it out now! Use Code: OAKANDOATSVERSE to get 25% off of your Naptime Diaries purchase (good until the end of Feb).

2. Hello little sleeping baby. My coworker just had a baby (10 weeks ago now) and she is semi back from maternity leave. She only is working part time and even brings her little with her most of the time. All the office aunties love snuggling with her and get so much work done when she is in ;)!

3. My dear friend Kelsey has the most beautiful kitchen ware in the world. I love spending time at her house because everything just feels a bit more fancy – like this hot coco, obviously.

4. I am laughing at this picture because can you believe it was only 6 days after that first picture was taken? We had a huge snow at the beginning of the week and then Sunday was in the 60s! It was so nice out (and we had no need to watch Sunday football) so we went to the park for a little Dutch Bros and slack-lining. My husband is infinitely better than me in this game 😉

I see people slacklining a lot in the parks here but have never done it. Do you enjoy it? I think it's more fun to watch, though maybe if I tried I'd like it?

I think I'm major time out of the loop because I don't know what slack lining is…but your husband looks like he's having fun! 🙂

I love that first photo! I've always wanted to try slack-lining but I always thought it looked painful – does it hurt your feet?

I have to admire your husband's slack-lining skills. That's seriously impressive! Do you do it, too?

I think it is fun to just hang out and be with friends. It is also really exciting & challenging to try to see how long you can stay up and what you can do!

It is just when you tie climbing rope between two trees and walk across it! It is a fun little workout (core and balance) but you just get to hang out and compete with friends!

Not at all! The rope is flat (like an inch thick) the only part that hurts is falling off 😉

We waited several months and it was still crazy busy. Not going back next time until it is back to normal - long lines with toddlers are not the best 😜 Happy Weekend Friends!

She has been there for me my entire life and continues to pour her life into me and her grandbabies. Every week they spend a day with grandma so that I can get some work done and so that they can make memories. ♥️

I didn't grow up near my grandparents and my heart just melts that these two can know her so well. She joyfully and sacrificially helps watch the girls, complete my swing projects for me (like every Halloween Costume 🤪), and also makes time to travel to see her other children and grandbabies! I'd love to win this for her! To enter a mama in your life, head to the link in my bio!👆🏼

Do you ever feel too small? Like whatever you have Do you ever feel too small? Like whatever you have is not enough? 🤷🏼‍♀️ As a mama I feel that all the time. My biggest ministry right now is my family and I don't always feel qualified to do that - Screen Time, Sleep Schedules, Potty Training, Cognitive Development, Feeding, Routines, Social Skills, Discipline.... the list goes on. Who put me in charge of two toddlers again?!?
🤦🏼‍♀️
But in John 6 we see Jesus multiplying the small we have to provide in big ways for his ministry. In the feeding of the five thousand, Jesus looked to his disciples and asked them how they were going to feed the crowds. To which they responded we don't have nearly enough money to buy them all bread. In an attempt to solve the problem and look for other ways, Andrew said "There is a boy here who has five barley loaves and two fish - but what are they for so many?" (Vs. 9) Then Jesus took the food, gave thanks, and the disciples passed out bread & fish to everyone in attendance who ate until their fill. After all that, there were still 12 baskets leftover filled with food.
🙌🏼
Raising tiny humans requires a lot. And the truth is that we only have so much to offer but the Lord takes what we offer and multiplies it. With His help we have more than enough for our families. The Lord can provide without us but he chooses to use our small offerings to do big things. He chooses to include us in His ministry.
♥️
A Mama's Prayer:

Lord, I offer my hands and my heart to your work today. Multiply these five loaves of bread & two fish to further your ministry. In the big things and little things of daily motherhood, may I seek you first, find strength & peace in you, and be a part of distributing your miracles in this world. The abundance may not be as physical as 12 leftover baskets, but may the fruits of the Spirit overflow in my heart & my home despite what is going on in the world. I don't have enough on my own, but you have more than enough. Thank you for using me & trusting me with these little lives. May they know you deeply, choose you as their Savior, and be part of the Kingdom work to bring you glory and be a light in the darkness. Amen.
