A Love Story

this lovely print is from Jenny Highsmith

“i’m in love! i’m in love! and i don’t care who knows it!” the buddy the elf emerges from within and i am lost for words. zephaniah 3:17 has been a long time favorite of mine. it is filled with some of the words that i cherish the most. my go-to verse.  and sweet honey to my soul.

the Lord your God is with you
He is mighty to save
He will take great delight in you
He will quiet you with His love
He will rejoice over you with singing
take a minute and sit in the silence. listen for His beautiful voice. it is rejoicing over you. over me. and those fears? yeah, He wants to quiet them and His love is loud enough to do so. because He delights in you and He is strong enough to save you from your fears, your sin, your circumstances. it sounds to good to be true so my heart rejoices “i’m in love! i’m in love! and i don’t care who knows it!”
did you need to hear that today?
i am also curious, what is your go-to verse?

Author: Elizabeth Mayberry

  • my go to verse? therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow has enough worries of it's own….can you tell i'm a worrier?

  • The Lord is my salvation. I will trust and not be afraid. Behold, the Lord is my strength and my son, he has become my salvation."
    Isa 12:2

This has been my life verse for 7 years now – so much truth in just one verse!

  • My go to verse is Proverbs 31:25 or Joshua 1:9. Loved your post today!

  • i always need to hear this πŸ™‚

    some go to verses:
philippians 1:6 // and i am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completed at the day of Jesus Christ.

exodus 14:14 // the Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

thanks for the encouraging reminder this morning!

  • I just can't settle on one go to verse. So many verses speak to me at different seasons in life! Thanks so much for sharing your heart today! Isn't the Lord's love simply amazing??!? πŸ™‚

  • Oooh I love this verse! Thanks for sharing!!

Matthew 5:3 and Philippians 4:7 are just two of my favorites.

  • "Every good and perfect give is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow" James 1:17

  • Psalm 139. Every time. He's always there, and He knows me intimately. He's known all my days before I was even born. Why worry? Why fear?

  • I have so many verses that I love but most recently I am in love with Psalm 56:8 You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book. This post is beautiful by the way I love that verse. Such an awesome reminder of how God truly loves us.

  • Perfection… Needed that today. such an inspiration… *cyber hug*
    be blessed!

  • What a great feeling, indeed! Don't have a go-to verse for all the time, but this week it's Deut. 31:6…. holding on to the fact He is with me always, never leaving me.

  • This is so good. It's posts like these that I need to read through twice sometimes. What a good feeling it is indeed, to have a God who truly rejoices over us and who takes delight in me, too.

And there are so very many verses that I love.

My very favorite is probably Jeremiah 29:11, but I've also been loving and living on Proverbs 3:5-6, Psalm 37:3-7, and Hebrews 11:1. πŸ™‚

  • When you go through deep waters and great troubles I will be with you always.
    Isaiah 32:2

It's a version a sunday school teacher told me years ago and I wrote down in my journal. I have no idea what translation it is but it has always been my favorite!
