Remember when we got into film last year? I’ve been meaning to document it more here but really it is more Bruce’s thing than my thing and I’ve been busy with three kids. Although, we’ve had some recent developments over here in the film world – a medium format camera addition & Bruce developing our own film – so I’m sure I’ll share more on all that!
We took a couple rolls of film on this trip but unfortunately our Ilford HP5 400 didn’t turn out which is just one of the things that can happen when you shoot film. It’s a bit of the reason why we switched to developing at home – it puts the risk in our own hands instead of the many that touch it during development. The entire lost roll was a camera malfunction we’re pretty sure but after several rolls coming back to us scratched or blotchy (including this roll of Portra!), we felt like we could try our hand at it. (It’s been going real well btw!) It’s sad for sure but we are not too heartbroken over it, especially when we have so many fun images from our Nikon Z6 and this roll of Portra 400!
