Mother's Day, Motherhood

Mother’s Day

A couple years ago I made my mama take pictures with me and Hilde! I wanted to make sure to capture these three generations before we all grew up. Two years later, we did it again and we’ve added one more to the mix!

Motherhood is a gift and something for a long time I didn’t know was for me. But then one day I felt the Lord tell me to be brave and step out in faith and now I have these girls! It’s funny looking back now on those years of not knowing if we should have kids because I couldn’t imagine my life without them now.

Motherhood is a calling, a ministry, a responsibility, a joy, and a job. It’s a whole new world of putting these little lives before your own – sacrificing sleep, time, hobbies, to take care of these helpless children. And as crazy as it sounds, it is a joy to be able to put there needs before mine. God meets me and supplies me with His strength and patience. The love I feel for these kids is like no other. And now that I am a mother myself, I finally get what it was like for my mom raising me.

Seeing her take on the roll of grandma makes my eyes water. I cannot imagine how it will feel to hold my daughter’s daughter in my arms! The love that passes on through the generations. The legacy of your motherhood continuing on.

So Happy Mother’s day to Mom and Grandma! We’re so thankful for your legacy, your care, your joy, your example, and your light!
