It has been years since I did a post like this! I used to have a whole category dedicated to my weekly Monday posts called “Week’s End.” I, loved doing them but as my blogging style changed, so did the need for those posts. I cut them out of my content calendar but thought today would be a fun day to bring something like that back – but a bit more 2018 instead of 2013 😉
As a new mom lots of things have changed. Even with this blog. I wanted to continue doing things at the same pace after a quick Maternity Leave (where I still did almost as much) but that quickly turned out to not be possible. My time, energy, and body have been going to our little girl and I only get little bits of time to edit pictures, write words, and engage over here. I know I won’t have a newborn forever and I’ll have more time to work again but I wont have a newborn forever (like I said) and I don’t want to wish this season by. I have a beautiful baby who needs me and my main job is taking care of her. Every day looks pretty much the same and tomorrow doesn’t hold the promise of having “more time” to finally write that post. But I have time now and so here I am. I’m here because I love this space and I find so much joy in keeping it up – however that looks.
Little Women
Have you seen this trailer?! It is like a modern storytelling of Little Women and it is adorable. I watched it Friday while snuggling my newborn. Growing up (and heck, even now) I love when there is a Beth or and Elizabeth in a movie and this story has one! I’ve always liked that. Also, Bruce’s mom’s grandma name is Marmee and that come from Little Women! We’re planning a girl’s night to go see it because everyone loves the story! I’m also having a fun giveaway for $25 to Fandango so that you can have a movie night of your own! Enter to win HERE.
Fall
On Saturday we went on our first family hike to see the changing aspens. It was beautiful and Hilde did such a great job in the LÍLLÉbaby carrier we ordered from Amazon. I did a lot of research and this looked like the best fit for us. We could both share it and easily adjust it to our different sizes and it was good for newborns up to 45 lbs! We took a bunch of pictures that I will probably post one day including this adorable one month photo!
prAna
I was so excited to open a box from prAna with some new fall (and not pregnancy!) clothes. I wore the Leigh Dress in Bone Heather and the Cinch Tote in Deep Balsam on Sunday for lunch out and an afternoon at Marmee & Papa’s. What I love about both of these items from prAna is that they are made with organic cotton! Organic cotton is better for the environment and better for people because it is free of pesticides and chemicals! If you want to learn more about Organic Cotton, click here! I can snuggle (and even feed) my baby while wearing this and feel great about it. Shop prAna now and save 15% when you use the code: WCEMF18
Mama Life
Like I mentioned above, mama life is sweet but hard all at the same time. My weekends look almost the same as my week days except Bruce gets to hang out with us all day (which we both love!) I cried this weekend because everything is different and my priorities have to shift. I want to keep up with work the way I used to but I can’t. The plan is to enjoy my maternity leave and figure out what coming back to work will really look like. But for now, I’m just going to snuggle my girl and enjoy these moments. Guilt free.
So happy weekend!! That’s what’s going on around here. How was your weekend?!
