Before I got pregnant, I knew I still wanted to continue my one cup of coffee in the morning even into pregnancy. Drinking a cup of coffee every day when I wake up is tradition – it is my routine- and I honestly feel off when I miss it. I used to drink a lot of coffee but needed to cut back for my health. I found that one cup of coffee became infinitely more special & grounding than when I could drink coffee all day long. Allowing myself to only have one cup made me savor each sip – not chug it down and get ready for my refill.
But then my first trimester hit and I couldn’t stand the smell of coffee. I was honestly heartbroken. There was a lot that was hard for me about my first trimester and having my routine & schedule thrown off was one of them. It is with great joy that I say that season has passed and entering into my 2nd trimester I came back to my one cup of coffee a day. I chatted with my OBGYN about it and she told me that one cup a day was just fine as long as baby was doing well! She’s doing great, so I’m back to my morning joy! And honestly, if my doctor ever asks me do cut out the caffeine, I will gladly switch to decaf to have my sweet morning moments. Because my cup of coffee isn’t just about the energy – it is about the taste, the time, and the moment.
When I was shopping online at Target the other day (probably adding things to my baby registry!) I came across the new 1850 Brand Coffee and added it to my cart! It is a new premium coffee from the makers of Folgers & the beans are fire-roasted and ground to help bring out the rich taste and aroma! I’m a SUCKER for anything historical. But really – you should know this about me! I am a HUGE history nerd and could spend all my time reading historical articles and wandering museums! And as a Colorado girl, my town was created because of the fortunes that could be found in the Rocky Mountains! Back in 1850, J.A. Folger started something new and innovative to help the prospectors as they sought their fortunes – delicious coffee! Today, there’s still no better way to get after it than with a bold-yet-smooth cup of coffee.
I even brought a couple bags with me to San Diego when I went to visit Amy so that I could continue my coffee mornings and leave some with her as a thank you gift for hosting me! Want to try it for yourself? Visit Target from 5/20 – 6/30 and take 20% off any 1850 Brand Coffee Product with the Target Cartwheel Coupon (while supplies last) and sip on some history in your early mornings! How do you like your coffee? Are you all about the moment & the tradition like I am?!

That’s awesome that you are still able to enjoy a cup a day of coffee. I am a tea drinker but always drink herbal/non caffeinated tea since the caffeinated stuff makes me jittery!
Yeah! That is the case for some people!
Where are those awesome frames from?? love them!
I’m not a coffee drinker at all, but I DO like the smell 🙂 I’m like you with tea though – I need some herbal tea every day. Hehe.
