That time I got Lash Extensions

I have blonde eyelashes, blonde eyebrows, and blonde arm hair. In fact, I have had multiple people ask if I dye my hair because it is so dark in comparison – I don’t 😉 I’ve been a brunette since I was born! I also have short eyelashes and pretty much rely on mascara to look like I am not sick. When I heard about eyelash extensions, I was super intrigued.

I’ll be honest. I was also pretty terrified because I have totally tried to put on fake lashes before and they were the worst – I just don’t have those skills to put them on or make them look like I wasn’t a complete poser. What I liked about the idea of lash extensions was that #1 I wouldn’t be the one putting them on and #2 they attach to individual lashes so they look natural and not super clumpy.

So I went out on a limb and I went to go get lash extensions and it was magical. AKA I didn’t feel like a zombie when I was taking my niece to school in the morning or opening the door to sign a package from the mailman 😉

Lash Extension FAQ (from my experience)

WHAT WAS IT LIKE?

I went it with no expectations (and no make up). Jess (she is the best!) asked me to fill out a form while talking about my eyelashes. She then took a picture of my eyes on her iPad and started drawing lashes on them in the desired pattern she was thinking would compliment my eyes the best. It was so fun seeing her create the eyelash shape and talk about her vision – it really is super artistic!

Then I laid on a super cozy massage table and she started getting ready for the lashes. I loved how Jess told me everything she was doing so I didn’t have to be weirded out about her touching my face 😉 For about 3 hours she applied my lashes and I totally fell asleep while she was doing it!

WHAT KIND OF LASHES DID YOU GET?

We decided to go with Volume Lashes because they can look more natural, last longer, and be mix matched for the best lengths. We also made them a little shorter so that they would look more natural – I really just wanted beautiful lashes when I woke up without doing a thing!

HOW DO YOU TAKE CARE OF THEM?

Jess gave me a solution to clean my eyelashes once a day to keep them healthy & attached. Oils can break down the glue so it is important to keep your eyelashes clean! I also have a little mascara brush without the mascara to use

WHEN DO YOU NEED TO GO BACK IN?

To keep them full and natural looking, you need to get fills every 2-4 weeks! I took these photos after about 1 week so some of the lashes had already fallen out (with my natural lashes) but I love how they continue to look good between fills!

WHERE DID YOU GET THEM DONE?

I went to Jessica of JBrand Beauty here in Colorado Springs and she is the best! She is super talented, knowledgeable, and kind! If you have any other questions I didn’t answer, you should check out this FAQ page!

Have you ever gotten eyelash extensions? Is it something you are interested in? I’m really glad I tried them out! PS: You should totally see my eye up & close here!!

Girl you are braaaave! Not sure I could have let someone get so close to my eye. It looks incredible though and I love those silly face shots 🙂 🙂 🙂
