I quit my job.
I quit my full time, 9-5, steady, consistent, and (yes also) life-giving job this week.
I quit to be here full time. To invest in blogging. To be an entrepreneur. To spend more time connecting with you and cranking out quality content. I quit my job to follow my dreams.
It is a mixture of emotions as you may expect. I am THRILLED out of my mind and super excited to see what the Lord has in store for Oak + Oats as I walk into this next season yet I also feel CRAZY for jumping head first into the world of entrepreneurship and am trying hard to pray through the lies that I don’t have what it takes to make it.
This season has been one of growth & change. It has forced me to rely on the Lord in new ways. Pushing into Him deeper as Bruce and I talk about our future, our plans, and our finances. We’ve looked at budgets, we set goals, we made sacrifices and it has all led up to this.
I’ve been busy.
Too busy and that is when I knew something needed to change. I looked at everything that filled my schedule and prayed about what needed to go. While my full time job has brought dear, dear friendships into my life and has been a great place to work these last four years, overwhelmingly I knew that it was what needed to go. I still will be working there until June 4th as I have some commitments and I want to finish well. I’m a lucky gal because all those coworkers are cheering me on as I make this transition (although they’ll miss me) but I know it isn’t always so easy to walk away from a job with good feelings.
Things will change around here, just not yet.
I’m planning on finishing well, taking a break, and dreaming BIG things. Thanks for sticking around through it all. Some of you have been here since 2010 when I started my blog on a whim and have been through all the growth & transition! There is more to come & I promise it’s going to be good because I’ll have more time to invest in YOU!!! Are you ready for the journey?

Oh man! I am so glad you can relate!
good for you! Now you will be probably working more hours for yourself but with so much more satisfaction! Just don’t forget when to “switch off!” xx Julie
Haha! Yes! That is the plan. Right now I am working 40 hours a week and then nights and weekends are my blog/ business! I am excited to switch those to my 9-5 40hr a week time frame to get my weekends and nights back! Wahoo!
So so so excited for you Beth! What a HUGE accomplishment! Hashtag GOALS ????. You have an amazing gift of blogging and taking pictures and just making everything look and sound really great. I will certainly continue to read your posts (I’m obsessed with the new design- still!) and I’ll be saying a prayer for you today! This is scary because it’s a big deal…but not bigger than God- so there’s that ????.
Congratulations, Lady!! That’s awesome
