Let’s Take a Road Trip

LOCATION: Colorado Springs, CO —> DESTINATION: Santa Fe, NM

DETAILS: Go Outside Tee || Leather Backpack || Cut-toff Shorts || Leather Bracelet || Tribal Sandals (old, similar) || Floral Duffle Bag || Rocksbox Jewelry (use code: oakandoatsxoxo to get one month for FREE!)

It feels like forever that the eight of us girls in our Bible Study have wanted to plan a Girl’s Weekend. We finally just did that this spring and set some plans in stone! With months in advance, we were able to ask off of work and get baby sitters (and wonderful husbands!) in place. Picking the place to go was the harder part – we wanted something fun, warm, relaxing, cultural, and affordable. We scratched off any place that needed flights (and saved them for a year where we can save, save, save our money for it!) and started looking to the south to chase the warm weather and pool days! Santa Fe came up in conversation and with some googling we realized just how perfect it would be for us. YAY!
So we took a road trip and headed 4.5 hours south to the Land of Enchantment to stay at the Lodge at Santa Fe for three nights. When packing for a road trip you have to think of space (we had four people in each car) and also comfortably. I love to look cute when I travel but I need to be comfortable! Ain’t nobody have time for tight, scratchy, terrible clothing when you are stuck in the car for hours, and hours! I love jean shorts & a tee shirt – perfect for gas station stops, hotel check-in, and dancing to Fight Song/ screaming it out the window with your girls in the car!
I also grabbed all the essentials – snacks, sunglasses, several outfits (some more fancy), extra swimsuits just in case, and my camera! That camera came home with 1000 photos for me to edit and sift through. Be ready for some photo dumping via my Instagramย and this blog as the week goes on! I’m already re-living our trip through the pictures!

Have you been on a road trip this summer? What are some of your favorite bags to pack and go-to outfits to wear? Whereย did you or do you want to road trip to?

Just went on a camping trip this weekend and made my first video! it was our sign off to summer, kinda sad about it. My favorite thing to wear on trips are comfy dresses, everyone looks at me funny, but I swear its the comfiest choice.

That shirt is adorable! I’m all about road trips. I tend to pack lots of yoga pants! And I must have books and great music, too!
