Ask Elizabeth: Hello! I saw your Instagram on your new dolls for the girls and I love them! I am wondering what you are buying and where you are finding it so that I can add some diversity to our home too!
YAY! Thank you so much! I’m so happy to share! With everything going on these days, I started looking around our home and felt the need to add some more diversity & color to our girls toys and books. Representation matters. Our kids need to see all kids of kids represented in their toys & books. Racial diversity in toys can promote empathy, kindness, and increased self esteem for ALL kids who play with them. So I went hunting to find some toys & books to add to our house!
MON AMI Chocolate Doll ($38)
We already have a MON AMI doll and these are just so beautiful! I love the quality and details so when I saw this one, I knew I wanted to get it! It also smells like chocolate which is the funniest thing but it does smell good!
Miniland Baby Doll ($23)
Outfit ($14)
I have been wanting to get Hilde a baby doll for some time now but just haven’t. So I went on the hunt and found these great ones on Amazon! They are so beautiful and Hilde absolutely adores carrying them around! The dolls come with a little diaper but I wanted to get them real outfits too! You can find lots on Etsy for them but I discovered that the Manhattan Toy Wee Baby Stella Outfits fit perfectly!
MINILAND BABY DOLL ($23)
OUTFIT ($14)
I also went ahead and got a the Hispanic baby too because I’ve got two girls! I’ve seen really expensive dolls that are this quality so I was very excited to find these at such a great price!
Harper Doll ($25)
This is from Manhattan Toy company which is one of my favorite toy brands. I have had my eye on it but it kept being out of stock! I finally snagged one and she is just beautiful! I love her buns!
I found SO many cute dolls I really had to stop myself from going shopping crazy but I did save them all for you here:

When God Made the World ($9)
Love Is ($12)
These are two of the books I wanted to highlight in this post! We’ve had Love Is since Valentine’s day and I just love it. It is the sweetest story with the most beautiful illustrations! When God Made the World is new and it is a beautiful telling of the creation story with children of all colors throughout the pages! I’ve been saving more books I find here that celebrate diversity – some we have already and some we are slowly adding to our collection!
Obviously these are not the only ways to add diversity to your home but these are the toys & books I discovered and loved so I ordered them right away! So glad that we are adding these toys when are girls are young it is just one of the many ways we can help raise them to love, respect, & appreciate others.
