Well this year is shaping out to be a year like no other! So many things have been closed for so long and now that things are starting to open up a bit, they are far from normal. There is so much we’re working through as a nation and as communities as well as figuring out how life looks during a pandemic. I am not going to lie, often the days feel heavy and I can get caught up in the weight of it all.
I’m trying to stay rooted in the midst of so much uncertainty. Going back to the source of my peace, my joy, my hope. It is so easy to look to anything & everything else to satisfy but the only one who can meet that need is the Lord. My heart needs more time in the Word than on my Instagram stories.
I was going through old blog posts the other day looking for something and stumbled upon my Word for 2020. This year has been so crazy, I threw out most of my plans to get things done. I had a baby and then quarantine happened. So our life has looked so different since January! I honestly hadn’t even thought about that post for months and totally forgot my word for the year.
It was savor. Savor these seasons. Savor not just survive. Savor by finding the good in the hard. Savor by finding the spice in the everyday and mundane of being a stay at home mama – of two – in the middle of a pandemic.
Well summer is upon us and I’m savoring these moments by going to the pool with Marmee & our cousins. We’ve been seeing family because life is too short to not spend time together and my in-laws neighborhood pool opened back up! There are restrictions and new rules and cleaning regimes and limited guests but we can go to the pool!
What a difference one year makes! Last year Hilde couldn’t walk and this year she was running all over that kiddie pool! Also I only had one baby last summer but this year there are two! I have this thing for matching (you know me) so the girls are rocking the same swimsuit from H&M kids. Don’t they just look so cute?
PS: I got the adorable baby doll off Amazon here and her outfit here!
