Holiday baking is one of my favorite things. I start the week of Thanksgiving and I just keep on baking as it goes. This is really funny as someone who doesn’t love cooking 😉 but I see baking (specifically holiday baking) so differently. The holidays more than ever is an excuse to gather and spend time together around tables & couches. Sharing stories and making memories. Since I knew I’d be wanting to bake and that I would be wanting to host, I picked up some goodies from my favorite small businesses to do that.
I knew I wanted some new bowls & napkins for holiday hosting because a cobbler is always on the menu! I found these organic cotton paperless towels at Polder’s Old World Market and I knew they would be perfect. They are soft, well made, and reusable! I also found these beautiful bowls at Homestead Seattle and had to have them! The color, quality, and design were calling my name! Around the holidays we make a lot more purchases – for our homes, for our loved ones, and for us. There is this saying that goes “Every time you buy from a small business, an actual person does a happy dance!” As a small business owner myself, I know this to be true and how fun to be able to celebrate and encourage the other small businesses in my life!
Choose to shop local and support small businesses this holiday season – whether for yourself, for hosting, or for gifting! You can support your local economy and give quality gifts! You can even shop online for so many small businesses! I used PayPal at checkout so I didn’t even need to run around my house to find my wallet and I know that PayPal offers return shipping refunds ( up to $30 in return shipping costs per order and 12 orders per calendar year!) I always use the PayPal checkout when I can and was so excited to open two packages to help me with my holiday hosting this year!
