Happy Hour At Home

How to Host a Happy Hour at home. (click through for more!)

Raise your hand if you like Happy Hour. We do too! It’s pretty nice to have those drinks on sale – then we don’t feel as bad about grabbing drinks out! It is fun to meet up with friends or stumble upon a Happy Hour and so we tried to recreate that at home. There are similarities – drinks, snacks, friends and there are differences – strangers, the smell of spilled beer, karaoke. 😉 While they are obviously totally different experiences, creating a happy hour at home is a really fun way to invite friends over and hang out in a relaxed environment.

CREATE A BAR AREA

It doesn’t have to start with a bar cart but mine does. I’ve been wanting one forever for a moment like this (sing in Kelly Clarkson voice if you know what I am talking about 😉 ) and after years of looking and waiting for sales, I picked this one up! Having a designated “bar top” to grab drinks at adds to the experience. Set out all the things your guests will need to create their drinks – drinks, straws, bottle openers, coasters, etc.

PICK FEATURED DRINKS

It is YOUR Happy Hour! Feature a drink or two for your friends. Obviously you house don’t have allllll the options that a bar has but Happy Hours always feature a couple drinks anyways. I picked up a bottle of VOVETI for a chic, modern winter drink. VOVETI is upscale and affordable, perfect for everyday pairing or chic entertaining with friends. I added some winter fruit (cranberries) to glasses to make them a little more “happy hour-esque.” VOVETI would make a great treat all year long,  you can add different fruit for the different seasons ( Strawberries, raspberries, pomegranate seeds, kewi, etc.)

ADD FOOD

Every good happy hour has food. I made some chocolate covered pretzels to sit on the cart for people to snack on as they chatted and enjoyed their happy hour drinks! You don’t need to get a whole meal ready, but snacks are always fun!

Enjoy gathering around drinks in the comfort of your own home. Have fun, laugh a lot, and soak up time together.
