Lake Erie

lake erie-8

When I first discovered that Cleveland is on the coast of one of the Great Lakes, I planned in my heart to make sure to see the water. I am a Colorado girl. We have lakes that look like ponds and a couple rivers. We don’t have large bodies of water where you cannot see to the other side. I’ve always been in awe of massive amounts of water (you should see me when I go to the ocean!) I’ve got a healthy fear of the water (maybe not so healthy 😉 ) and a love for its beauty.

We phoned a friend for coast advice, hit up google maps, parked the car, and walked to the edge. I tried to find Canada but the lake is too big for me to see to the other side apparently 😉 We watched the boats out on the lake and the waves crash on the shore. It all made me crave a beach vacation… I-I-I-I-I-I keep on hoping we’ll eat cake by the ocean. Haha!

Wow – these pics make me crave a beach vacation too! Love the colors and just the serenity of being near a big body of water.

Big bodies of water are the best! Being able to run away to the beach and see the ocean is one of my favorite things about Charleston.
