Lily Jade Bag

This summer has been a fun season for many reasons! One of them being the amount of wonderful friends I have to are growing little ones inside them (pregnancy is so beautiful and weird! I love it!) John & Mere are one of those preggos in our lives! They are two of our best friends and some of our first (if not first) friends who only knew us as Bruce & Beth.  We had just ended our long distance dating period and were back in Colorado Springs when we met John & Mere. We played one game of Loaded Questions and laughed harder than we imaged – that was it, we’ve been friends ever since.

They both stood with us in our wedding, have sat through countless meals with us, and have shared many times of laughter, times of heartache, and coffee dates! Now they are adding a little one to their fam and we couldn’t be happier.

Mere asked me to take some fun maternity shots for them and while I don’t feel like I’m exactly prepared for that type of photography, I was honored. I started with these fun candid shots while we were out to coffee the other day. Because those are the moments I know how to capture on my DSLR. I love these because she still has a couple months to go, but the baby bump is starting to pop and it feels so much more real. A little baby is on the way for me to spoil!!! (Yay! I love the aunt life!) I also love her bright red diaper bag from Lily Jade! Mere is an art teacher and I think it is so fitting for her to have a bright red bag.

I also love the symbol of that bright red bag. The practicality of it being a diaper bag and the finality that this baby will bring changes to her life. But it is bright, and fun, and cute – just like her. Motherhood will change her and grow her in many ways but she will still be Meredith. Motherhood will add a whole bunch of new things, schedules, and moments  but the Lord gave this baby to the Mays because He wanted the baby to be raised with these personalities. To me the bag says, yes I am a mom but I’m still a girl too! #I’mNotARegularMom,I’mACoolMom
