Misty Mountains + CAMP brand

LOCATION: Starsmore Discovery Center – Colorado Springs, CO
DETAILS: Camp Sweatshirt || Rolled Skinny Jeans || ChacosΒ

Can I tell you a secret? I’m done with the rain. This has literally been a historically wet May. We don’t do rain for days well here and I am just ready for the summer, and sun, and all things hot…. I’ve had all these great plans to get out, go camping, work on my Chaco tan (and just tan in general), run around the mountains without the threat of flash flooding and lighting storms. It makes me sad.
The other day, there was a break in the rain (ish) on date night and so we headed out and Bruce snapped a few photos on what we like to call a “half hike”. We wanted to run further, explore more, dive deeper but the rain started again and our phones warned of flash flooding.
I stood there and took it all in. The brightest greens from the unending water, the fresh smell of clean air and wet lilacs, the beautiful misty mountains, and the loud rushing of the mountain streams. Sometimes life doesn’t always go as planned and the picture perfect adventure moments don’t happen in front of the camera (or at all.) But there is still beauty in the rain if we look for it. There is always something to refresh us when we stop trying to be so darn perfect.

I, personally, love the rain. The bright green that follows is always one of my favorite things. I always remind my outdoor wedding brides that, yes, it may rain, but when your photographer takes out outside during a lull and the trees and bright green you will end up with some of the most magical and vibrant wedding photos. Maybe I’m biased because it rained on our wedding day and I took photos in the pouring rain in my 11 layers of tulle and had a blast. haha.

Side note, what does the tattoo on your foot say?

yeah! Totally! I love rain normally, but not every day in a row. There is a lot of canceled things (like Rockies games and mountain trips) because of dangerous weather and flooding – most people have flooded basements and our city’s damage is increasing with no end in site. I think all that plays into my frustration with the rain πŸ™‚ because really it is so pretty and we need some moisture so we don’t have any wild fires this year.

Oh man, anyways! my tattoo says “until only love remains” πŸ™‚

I do hope that it stops raining on a daily basis for you soon!

I love that phrase! What a great tattoo. πŸ™‚

I was just visiting Colorado Springs (I left this morning) and was sad to have to cancel a lot of my planned activities because of the rain! That was my first trip to Colorado and I hope I can come visit again one day and have better luck with the weather! It was still a beautiful place!
