A Calling

A wise lady once told me that and I will never forget it. My friend and I were attending a conference. We were sitting around trying to figure out where the Lord was planning on using us, what His future plans for us were, how we would make sure we didn’t miss His calling, and how worried we were that we would misread Him. A stranger near by smiled, leaned over, and gently reminded us that life isn’t about seeking the perfect future or figuring out God’s plans, it is just simply sitting with the Father, going to Him, seeking Him, and accepting His love & grace. When we go with the Father, we will always be where we need to be when we need to be. He will use our dreams, our passions, our skills, and our story best when we seek Him and when we trust.

Want to know a secret? I am a mess right now. I’m stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, easily irritated, and I could cry on moment’s notice. I need a break and I need some time. It wasn’t until I sat down at my computer and realized that what I really needed was Jesus. So I am going to meet Him, for He is calling me to His heart & He is calling you. Wherever you are and wherever you are at. He is your calling.

this is awesome. i love that he is calling us to Himself. She said it quite succinctly, but I have tried to focus on that the last few years in my own way. Takes so much pressure off to know I'm always exactly where I need to be.

Thank you so much for this. I can’t tell you how I’ve struggled with this. I’m in a grad program right now and I keep thinking, “What am I doing?!”
