The Rehearsal Dinner

In all my wedding advice, I love to emphasize how important it is to be yourself at your wedding. It may sound super simple and slightly obvious, but anyone who has been engaged knows that so much pressure is put on that day.

Weddings are rooted in traditions – within your family or just within our culture. Tradition tells you that you have to do things certain ways. YOU DON’T. Do things the way you want to. Skip some traditions, hold others dear to your heart – it is your wedding, you get to create it.

The best weddings I have ever been to reflect the couples who are getting married! Even if they don’t do the wedding like I would have. I enjoy it because it is “so them.”

MY REHEARSAL was obviously filled with a bunch of serious people. We played outside, wore our chacos, set up the barn, and ate at Rudy’s (the best BBQ in town. the mister & I are slightly obsessed.) We kept some traditions and skipped some others and enjoyed it so much!
