4th of July, Mayberry, Mays, Megan, Ridings, Summer

Our 4th of July

Our 4th of July was spent was spent together as we usually do. It doesn’t take much to organize a family gathering and a big holiday like the 4th was an assumption. Since both sides of our families live in town, we like to get together as one big family for holidays! My parents & siblings were invited over to Bruce’s parents house with his siblings and we also invited quite a few of our friends. I love how much our parents get along & desire to be involved in each others lives. Also just how darn welcoming they are to friends – everyone is part of the family! It is a joy to be able to celebrate and spend time together.

I also loved having a reason to wear my new Stitch Fix maxi dress. While maxi dresses are always SO long on me, this one just barely touches the floor and I count that as a win! HAHA. I also love that when looking back everyone is wearing red, white, and blue. What a festive bunch of people we are. After a long afternoon eating & playing in the sun, we set out to hike up the trail to the overlook to watch the fireworks.ย More memories for the memory bank. More photos for the books.

I love your dress and that both sides of your family are close enough to get together. Michael and I split our holidays between families because our families are on almost complete opposite sides of the US, but we’ll take what we can get. ๐Ÿ™‚

Such fun! I love family get-togethers like this. And totally random, but I love your friend’s short red hair!

Looks and sounds like you had a wonderful 4th of July! Also, I LOVE that maxi dress! I usually have the same problem with them being too long on me too, haha.
