One thing I love about the Colorado life is abundance of local breweries around here – they literally grow on trees in these parts. I’m sure the way Chick-Fil-A grows in the South and coffee shops thrive in the Pacific Northwest! We don’t call ourselves beer connoisseurs but we do enjoy a good brew and it’s one of the things we love to do together – try all the new things.

Iron Bird Brewing opened semi-recently near our house but we hadn’t stopped in to check it out before. We finally got down there and picked up a flight to sample so we could check out several of their brews. We typically will get a flight to share whenever we try a new brewery so that we can get a broader taste of what they have and offer. After that we tend to pick favorites so it is good to at least try several without ordering a bunch of beer.

I tend to go for the dark beers (and even the porter they had was so smooth and delicious) but this summer I’m loving the lighter beers. I think it is because I am growing up in my beer drinking-ness and I am starting to want different beers to pair with different seasons and foods.

We both wore stripes and our Jord Watches. I promise it was not all on purpose but we do tend to match by accident quite often. I guess that is the married life for you – or the life where I buy clothes for us both and have a huge love for blue, gray, and stripes ๐Ÿ˜‰
