I'm back - again! I just got back from a work trip out to Cocoa Beach Florida with my little sister and it wasn't all that bad ;) We dipped our feet in the ocean every freaking day, tracked sand in everywhere, and got some beautiful Florida sun! And I'll tell you what - FLORIDA IS HOT! Like so hot & humid that the moment you step outside of the house every pore on your body opens and starts sweating. There were days I thought I would never not be sticky, wear my hair down, or have a need ... continue reading...

Cave of the Winds
Bruce & I live in a touristy state. There are so many fun things to do and see in Colorado that people from all over the world come to do! It is so fun to live in a beautiful place - we always have fun places to eat, local places to shop, beautiful hiking year round, easy access to the mountains, and lots of fun activities at our finger tips! Cave of the Winds is a local attraction here in town. I remember going in the early 90's on a field trip but Bruce had never been before. Isn't ... continue reading...
summer lovin’
The warm weather is sweeping in and we're loving it (or you could say "having a blast" - get it?!) Each season here in Colorado carries a different kind of beauty, but there is something about the longer evenings and the warmer weather that is truly magical! The other day we gathered after dinner and walked down to the park. We didn't worry about a million layers or the sun setting all we worried about was keeping the dessert cold and remembering the Frisbee ;) ... continue reading...
Summer Skin Care
I've been on a hunt for skin care that actually works for sometime now - like the last decade of my life! I've tried so many products I can't even count them, hah! Here is the thing - I don't have normal/ perfect skin. My skin is dry, acne prone, dull, and starting to show signs of wrinkling (sorry I smile all the time & raise my eyebrows ;) ) Every acne product I've tried has killed my skin (aka: dry flake mess) and every moisturizing line has caused outbreak central. I've tried home ... continue reading...
Five Tips for Better Blog Photos
When I first started blogging I stole images off Pinterest for my posts (GASP!) Don't worry, I quickly realized that A) That was illegal and B) I loved most the blogs that shared their own photos. As someone who never took a photography class in her life, (wait...maybe I did in middle school?) I was intimidated by the idea of creating my own images but I knew I didn't want to break the law . So I rocked the "Instagram" inspired photos where I would just post all the things on Instagram. This was ... continue reading...
Fresh Winter Makeup
I tend not to wear a lot of makeup. Only recently have I even added lipsticks into my collection (that is TSwift's influence on me ;) ) I am a huge fan of looking put together but in a light, fresh, and natural way. I had my good friend Laura come over and show me how to do a no makeup makeup look for the Winter season. Fresh, healthy, and bright! Here in Colorado especially I notice my skin can get a little dry & dull. Great moisture and highlights are my BFF. ... continue reading...
Cinnamon Fruit Dip
I'm a snacker. I love having snacks during movies, on my desk all day while I am working, in my purse, and during any kind of sporting event. In fact, I could easily eat snacks all day and never sit down for a full meal but I have a husband who seems to think that popcorn doesn't count as dinner ;) Just like Cinderella's fairy god mother, "I'm liking fruit & veg" for my snack choice (please say you know that quote! It is one of my favorite lines in the whole movie!!) Since it is the holiday ... continue reading...
Messy hearts & Messy homes
It is almost the middle of October and I was hoping my life would slow down a little. Remember when we started a summer project called finishing the basement? Yeah, it is still going. I guess we can start calling it our autumn project now. We just got home from Home Depot and are hoping that the carpet will be going in at the beginning of November which will be the last of it. Finally. ... continue reading...
DIY Marbled Art
I've been itching to get in a little DIY project for sometime now (as if finishing an unfinished basement from scratch wasn't DIY enough for me ;) ) Truth is, I like my projects under 30 minutes - what can I say? I have a short(er) attention span and I love completed projects! I remember seeing that you could marble with shaving cream & food coloring (which is kinda so cool) and I figured I needed to try it! Messy? Sure! Super cool when I can create marbled art without having to leave my ... continue reading...

a storm
" And behold, there arose a great storm on the seas, so that the boat was being swamped by the waves; but He was asleep. And they went and woke Him, saying 'Save us, Lord; we are perishing.' And He said to them, 'Why are you afraid, O you of little faith?' Then He rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, 'What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey Him?' " MATTHEW 8:23-27 i don't know what storm you are facing ... continue reading...
Hidden on the Corner
Another palimpsestic encounter occurs in the smack dab middle of suburban America. With the sudden burst of houses logically, came the Starbucks on the corner. A new slate waiting to be written on. Its new clean colors of cream and brown blended in with the stucco surroundings and it became the near by life saver for all the commuting parents gearing up for another 20 hour day. Living in that neighborhood for 15 years longer than most people and the Starbucks itself, I might have been the only ... continue reading...
