Another first for Hilde! But really I shouldn't start every post like that. haha. Every year Rock Ledge Ranch has a Harvest Festival and it is one of my favorite things to go to. Often we go here just to walk around. It is a beautiful historic property in our neighborhood and way before we had Hilde, we would take walks around the ranch and into Garden of the Gods. But I love going to their events as well because they do such a fun job. My love for tradition makes this event entered into my ... continue reading...

What’s In a Name?
Hilde Joy Mayberry She is not here yet but she has been named! Remember this Instagram post? I loved all your guesses and while no one guessed it (it was kind of a trick question ;) ) some did get her middle name!! We've known her name for awhile now - probably since week 22 after we found out she was a girl! We just kept coming back to Hilde and knew it was our little girl's name! I've been wanting to announce it here but needed some imagery to go with it! You know, blogger problems ;) I found ... continue reading...

DIY Photo Stocking Stuffers
This shop has been compensated by Collective Bias, Inc. and its advertiser. All opinions are mine alone. #CreateWithHP #CollectiveBias I grew up in a family of four kids. As we got older, we started taking on new responsibilities and traditions. One of them was Christmas stockings. We started stuffing each other's stockings every Christmas. Each person (including mom & dad) had to pick out a small item for each other person in the family. Then on Christmas eve, we would all stuff the rest ... continue reading...
DIY M&Ms Ornaments
This post has been sponsored ©2017 Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Every year we host or attend an Ugly Christmas Sweater party. I think we can all agree they are one of the most fun holiday traditions! The thrill of the hunt looking through thrift stores to find the perfect sweater, the overly festive images and Instagrams, and the competitions of who found the BEST ugly sweater - it is just all great! This year, I wanted to have some party favors ... continue reading...

Also, I just don't know what I should be doing - how many posts are too much? And I reeeeallly don't want to sound like a used car salesman! Buy this, buy that!. Etc. Help! YAY! It's November and the next two months are always some of my favorites! If you are anything like my husband, you are telling me to hold off on the ... continue reading...

Every October we HAVE to go pick out a pumpkin. and I prefer it to be at some adorable local farm over adding one to my click-list order at the grocery store. Rock Ledge Ranch has a harvest day every year so I made sure to put it in our calendar months ago. The weather here in Colorado was dipping into the beautiful ... continue reading...

Advent Calendar
This is my fourth year picking up an advent calendar from Naptime Diaries ( 2013, 2014, 2015) but this year the company has a new name - Amen Paper Company. I couldn't find the new name more fitting. Four years ago I picked up the advent guide because I so desperately wanted to make the Christmas season more intentional. It is one of the most magical times of the year but it is also filled with so much noise and so much rush. I wanted a way to intentionally celebrate. To begin traditions in my ... continue reading...
Sarah’s Bridal Shower Cake
Two years ago I decided I was going to be cute & homemakery and make the cake for my little sister's bridal shower. This year, I felt like I needed to continue the tradition and whip up something for my other baby sister's bridal shower (I have a thing for traditions!!) Here is something you should know about me, I only make a cake once every couple years (see a pattern) so saying I am confident in my cake baking skills is an understatement ;) (ps: that was completely sarcastic!) ... continue reading...
Lazy Sundays with Family
Bruce and I both have our sides of family here in town. We are very thankful to be able to spend time with our families more often (and spend our vacation time doing other things ;) ) Yes we all may live in the same town, but we still have to schedule times to see each other or the business of life just fills all the space in. This past Sunday afternoon we drove down to my parents house for a late (but better than never) family tradition. ... continue reading...
Yule Tea at Glen Eyrie
I'm the oldest - I have two little sisters and a little brother. We've always been super close (as in we like each other a lot) but as we've grown up / gotten married/ graduated college etc, we have all started to get a little bit spread out. My brother is off at college in Arkansas and one of my sisters lives with her husband in Kansas City. Because of the distance we don't get to see each other as much so we have to take full advantage of the holidays! This year everyone came home and the ... continue reading...
Frosted Window Panes
Tradition. I hold on tight to that word for the better and for the worst. I was built to adore traditions - to look ahead and know what the next year has in store. It is comfort for this planner heart and builds the joy of anticipation. If I could, I would make everything tradition - and then end up burnt out each year trying to squeeze it all in ;) haha. So we just make some of the things tradition and I cherish them as the holidays fly by. ... continue reading...
DIY Stocking for Him
Stockings are one of my favorite things about Christmas Morning. I don't know how your family did it, but in mine we could tear into our stockings right away as we waited for the rest of the family to get up. I always loved that and wanted to continue the tradition in our home - even though we kinda wake up at the same time together. haha. I am all about one stop shopping and so this year I filled Bruce's Stocking entirely with goodies I found at Huckberry! (Remember when last year he got a ... continue reading...
