Remember when I created a new tradition last year? I do! So much so that I went out to pick up valentine's donuts from our neighborhood Dunkin in negative 6 degree weather at 8 am. Now that is dedication. The funniest thing is that I don't even like donuts. I just like pretty things also here I am. Traditions are a big deal to me. I don't know why, they just are. I share about it all the time on this blog because we repeat things year after year in the name of tradition. I LOVE it and I ... continue reading...

A Christmas Tour Of Our House
Our house feels so festive this year. Last year we were weeks away from giving birth and just a couple weeks into living in this house. I was spending more time unpacking, than decorating for Christmas. We still of course got a tree and put up decorations while we were unpacking (since it is the most wonderful time of the year) but this year I actually was established enough to make our home the most festive it has ever been. This house just has a better layout for Christmas than our old one did ... continue reading...
Unique Bible Verses to include in your Christmas Cards
We got our Christmas Cards in the mail this week and now we are working on getting them addressed to friends & family and back in the mail! It is tradition to get a card out every year (and you know how I feel about traditions!!) so I don't mind all the stuffing, addressing, and stamping! This year we got our cards at Parabo Press. I picked the Joyful card because although this year has been one for the books, Joy has been abundant in our home and hearts. I also wanted to add a verse ... continue reading...
Picking out the Pumpkin
We're back at Rock Ledge Ranch for the pumpkin picking (2018, 2017)!! I've finally got it in my brain that this happens the first weekend of October so hopefully I'll stop planning trips over that weekend! ;) Last year I was so bummed to miss it. It also was a crazy time (we were closing on this house!!) and I didn't think we would make it to a pumpkin patch at all - but we found this neighborhood harvest festival so I've got photos of one year old Hilde with the pumpkins! With COVID and the ... continue reading...
Eight Years Together
On August 18th we celebrated eight years of marriage. Literally as long as our high school + college years combined And I have to say these last year's have been the best years of my life. Not to discount those 24 years pre Mayberry but sharing and making a life with Bruce Mayberry has been one of the Lord's sweetest gifts in my life! As we were driving to dinner we were pointing out the empty car seats in the back, expressing our shock over how fast things can change, ... continue reading...
Our Easter
Easter itself brought us snow and 20 degree temperatures but the day before we were outside all day in the 70 degree weather! You can even see that storm rolling in! HAHA. Millie turned three months old (you can see the official post here) so we had to take those montlhy photos. Like always, it turns into a family affair! I love these photos of our days this weekend. This beautiful view is a short walk from our house which makes me feel so spoiled. This Easter is nothing like normal yet so ... continue reading...
Easter Baskets for the Girls
I wasn't going to do Easter Baskets this years because the girls are young and we were going to do other things to celebrate Easter. But in lieu of the current state of events in the world, I changed my mind to make this season more fun. We wont be doing Easter Egg hunts or family meals and the thing I am most dissapointed about is that we don't get to have Millie baptized this Easter like Hilde was last year. I thought it would be fun for them to share the holiday as a second birthday. I know ... continue reading...
Happy Valentine’s Day
I love Valentine's Day! Growing up we always made it a fun day filled with treats, crafts, and a Chinese food picnic on the floor. My parents always made sure it was a day to celebrate love between family and friends and not just romantic love. As a lover of holidays and finding any reason to celebrate, Valentine's day is a fun light in the middle of long winters! HAHA! Now that Hilde is a year and a half, she is understanding a lot more which makes it even more fun to celebrate the holidays! ... continue reading...
Christmas Bucket List + Free Download
I know Autumn isn't over yet but I've added a second bucket list to the mix! AND IT IS CHRISTMAS!!! We'll get a Winter one going once Autumn is over and recapped, but I just had to make one for Christmas all on its own! I love this time of the year so much. I used to be a bit embarrassed about wanting to start planning and celebrating early, but now I just rock it. Bruce and I are not exactly on the same boat when it comes to this but we compromise. We do tree and house decorations after ... continue reading...
Louisburg Cider Mill in Louisburg, KS
This fall has been nothing like I expected. Well, a little bit like I expected but with a lot of unexpected mixed in! The ironic thing is that this is the year I shared an Autumn Bucket List because I had so many plans that I wanted to make happen (and was planning to make happen) and it looks like quite a few things on that list will remain unchecked. I'm learning to just run with it! If you are not on our newsletter, you may have missed the memo that we are closing on a house. Things still ... continue reading...
Baby’s First Easter Basket
Growing up every Easter morning, we would wake to find an Easter Basket sitting at the end of our bed. My mama was always so intentional about celebrating holidays. She always included an element of fun while also making sure we understood the meaning behind each holiday. With Easter coming up, I started the hunt for Hilde's first Easter Basket. Passing on traditions is one of my favorite things about being a mama. Thanks to an Instagram ad (they work! haha) I found Hallmark Baby and fell in ... continue reading...
Christmas Eve
Merry Christmas Eve I've got way too many Christmas photos on my computer so I have to dump them somewhere! In years past I was already thinking about all my New Year's Content at this stage in the year but not this time. I'll be posting Christmas well into January. haha! I think it all has to do with being a mama this year - one part because everything takes longer to do (including getting blog posts up) and the other because I've taken WAY more photos than I have of Christmas' past. This ... continue reading...

Christmas Jammies
We are huge fans of Christmas pajamas in our house if you haven't already noticed on Instagram! Every year growing up, we would get new Christmas jammies. They would appear under the tree on Christmas Eve and miraculously come from Santa. We got to open them and change into them after dinner and wear them the rest of the night until morning. Christmas pajamas are one of my all time favorite Christmas memories and traditions so the festivities continue! I'm all about buying Christmas pajamas for ... continue reading...
Baby’s First Stocking
Thank you buybuy BABY for sponsoring this post! Stockings are one of the many traditions I am all about. I've been thinking of adding Hilde's stocking up with ours for some time. Even last year knowing I was a couple weeks pregnant at this time, I started dreaming of what Christmas would be like this year! I was pretty set on finding another stocking like mine & Bruce's but that all when out the window when I found this whimsical stocking! I wanted it for myself so I figured it would be the ... continue reading...
Our Christmas Book Tradition
Thank you buybuy BABY for sponsoring this post! Ask Elizabeth: What traditions are you thinking of adding to your family now that you have children? Great question! The answer is D. All of the above! I am a huge fan of traditions and that love has only been multiplied with the birth of our Hilde Joy! We have already foraged plenty of holiday traditions on our own but we are introducing new(ish) ones with Hilde this year. One of them is the basket of Christmas books. This one is newish because ... continue reading...
Our Family Tree Adventures
Every year since we've been married (besides the one year we didn't) we head out to pick up our Christmas tree Thanksgiving weekend. We're a real tree kind of family and I love to get the tree up in our home asap to really get the Christmas Spirit going. This year was our first year with little Hilde girl! I've shared in the past about Traditions and why they mean so much to me, but passing them on to my child is more exciting than I could have known. She has no idea that we were picking out a ... continue reading...
