Fresh Winter Makeup

Fresh Winter Makeup - I love this easy , fresh, no make up makeup look! I tend not to wear a lot of makeup. Only recently have I even added lipsticks into my collection (that is TSwift’s influence on me 😉 ) I am a huge fan of looking put together but  in a light, fresh, and natural way. I had my good friend Laura come over and  show me how to do a no makeup makeup look for the Winter season. Fresh, healthy, and bright! Here in Colorado especially I notice my skin can get a little dry & dull. Great moisture and highlights are my BFF.

HOW TO:

  • Start with a clean face and use brush to blend in foundation.
  • Add concealer if needed and blend in.
  • Add blush to cheeks.
  • Pencil in eyebrows lightly.
  • Use golds & pinks for the eye shadow and add a fresh coat of mascara.
  • Pair the neutral eyes with a bright, bold lip – I went with a red!

PRO TIPS:

  • If you need to use concealer, use it after you put on foundation and blend in.
  • Don’t be afraid to use brushes with liquids (this one took me sometime to learn but now I can’t put on foundation without them!)
  • If you go big on the eyes, try a tamer lip. If you want to go big on the lip, don’t go overboard on the eyes. ( I went with the lip, obvi!)
  • Embrace your little quirks – Don’t feel the need to hid freckles or wrinkles!
  • The it Cosmetics eyebrow pencil is “Quite possibly the best eyebrow pencil I have ever used!” – Laura

What are some of your tips for Winter makeup? Do you switch up your routines in the Winter? What are some of your must have items for your makeup bag?

  • I LOVE that red on you! My Mum always taught me to choose either the eyes or the lips and go big on one of them only, so I totally love this advice! And I’m curious to try that eyebrow pencil – I’ve never used IT cosmetic products before but I’ve only ever heard great things 🙂 x

Thanks so much! I cut off inches and inches but it feels so light and fresh!

  • I only wear mascara for everyday, make up is just way too much work! Haha I love the red lips thing tho, T-swift got me into that too!

    • Oak & Oats

Yes! I love just popping on mascara!

  • Love the haircut, Beth!

    • Oak & Oats

      Thank you so much Allison!

  • So fresh. I love it! I feel like I really have to add the blush/bronzer during the winter because I can look really washed out too.

    • Oak & Oats

      Yes! Girl. Me too.

  • I love your hair! (And the fresh makeup, too.) How do you match foundation/concealer so well?! I’ve always steered clear because 1) I’m lazy, and 2) I’m worried it’d stand out and make me look fake!

    • Oak & Oats

Thanks so much – I’m loving the shorter locks! Concealer wise, I just buy the same color (light) and use a brush to blend it in! I used to be afraid on concealer but there are a lot of light weight ones out there and make up brushes do wonders on creating a airburshed/ well blended look!

  • I don’t wear much makeup either; a few dabs of concealer, some eyeliner, mascara, and blush! That lipstick looks wonderful on you! Love the color!

    • Oak & Oats

Thanks so much! I’m getting better at rocking the bold!

  • I’ve been thinking about cutting my hair for such a long time now, this only makes me want to do it even more. Love it!

It’s amazing how lipstick completes a look. I started using lipstick more regularly last year, and the amount of compliments you get is surprising. I guess where I live not many use lipstick that much, so they admire the boldness of daring to use it.
You look great with this make up 🙂

    • Oak & Oats

You really should do it Elin! It is fun to switch things up!

  • I’ve been eyeing IT Cosmetics for a while now so I can’t wait to try out some of these products you showed off. 🙂
