stitch fix #2

i knew right after i opened my first box that this was going to be the beginning of beautiful relationship! i just came home from work to find a surprise on my doorstep – my second stitch fix! and let me tell you, that that moment is one of the best parts about Stitch Fix!
1. mail is at the door with your name on it!
2. at the end of 8 hours when you are too tired to go out and shop because too many things await you at home (laundry, dinner, dishes, get togethers, etc.) you get to skip the errands step and get some clothes picked out just for you and your body type
3. you try them on in your own dressing room (bedroom) with your own closet, your own mirror, and time to figure out how you would wear each piece!
4. NO STRESS if you do not like it all (or anything) you can send it back for free and wait for a new box when they try to perfect your personal style!
this seriously is perfect for me because after working an 8 hour day i do not want to go to the mall. i want to go home, put dinner in the oven, head out to my night event (Bible study, socializing, girls night, date night, etc) watch some netflix, and go to bed. i also enjoy clothing and new clothes but i am not a fan of shopping! this works great because i get new clothes for work without shopping or taking too much time out of my day! also, it helps me control my spending. i am not just grabbing things quickly while i am out so that i have new things – i am waiting for my stitch fix every couple months and knowing that is my clothing money.
i was afraid to try Stitch Fix at first because it looked so expensive! i have a small budget and really value good deals. now that i have tried it i have found that i actually save a lot.
1. SAVE TIME: on shopping, on trying on clothes, on searching for things that fit me and my style
2. SAVE MONEY: with the 25% discount but also because i don’t have to go shopping all the time and i save my clothes budget for this.
3. SAVE OVER TIME: with quality boutique items my closet is being stocked with key pieces that last a long time and go with a lot of the things i already own. then i have less “cheap” and quick purchases and more intentional quality items.
Indian Tribal Print Top -$44
Tiffany Lightweight Tribal Print Infinity Scarf – $32
Skylar Asymmetrical Knit Sip Up Jacket – $78
Moni Horseshoe Print Stud Detail Shirt – $58
TOTAL I PAID: $125
$260 for all the items
(including a dress not shown that i didn’t love for me so i am gifting it!)
25% off for discount $200
3 referrals $125
SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
1. you don’t have to pay for ANY shipping! they send it to you, you like it, you keep it OR they send it to you, you don’t like it, you send it back with the prepaid label.
2. when you sign up you pay $20 for the “styling fee” you get that money back when you buy something! (that is to protect them from people stealing clothes/ manipulating the system. i respect that they do that. it shows that they think their product is valuable and worth protecting)
3. if you buy everything you get 25% off the total. sometimes if you love all but one item, it is still cheaper to buy them all and then you can give the other one as a gift!
4. once you sign up and get your first Stitch Fix, you can refer your friends & family to Stitch Fix and you get $25 for each new person you refer! this is fun because you are sharing a product you love and Stitch Fix wants to thank you for that!
have you tried STITCH FIX yet?
what’s holding you back?
HOW DO YOU LIKE TO SHOP?
  • I love everything you got!

  • I've been patiently waiting for this post since I saw you Instagram that scarf. I absolutely love the jacket! I really want to try this out, but the price is still holding me back. I'll just enjoy it through you for now!

  • LOVE that jacket! It's so flattering on you!

  • Great fix! That tribal top is to die for.

  • I'm seeing more and more of this! I love EVERYTHING that came in your box. I think I might have to give this a go. I really don't like shopping. I have to be in a really good mood to even step foot in a mall. ha!

  • All of these are sooo cute! I really like the last shirt a lot. I would so love to get a StitchFix, but even $125 is way over my budget. That's like 3 months of budget at once! Maybe I'll win the lottery or something πŸ™‚

  • Kayla Schroeder

I think they all look cute on you, but I love the jacket! I hate going shopping, so this might be a good option for me. πŸ™‚

  • I totally get that! It is three months for me too! I got my first one in December and this one is my March! I enjoy saving it all up for the box so that I don't have to go out and go shopping! and it also helps me not just buy cheep things because I am out and have a small budget. BUT i totally get you skipping on it for now! Everyone has different values and favorites and places they want to spend their money πŸ™‚ Maybe one day you will be able to splurge on a box! XOXO

    • Sadie Coltrane

So can you put off your boxes? You don’t have to get one every month?

      • Oak & Oats

Yes! You can sign up for them one at at time! I just got one before the holidays but I am waiting to schedule my next one! I’ll probably do it sometime in the Spring!

  • I love the asymmetrical sweater, it is really unique and cute! I can't wait to sign up for this once we pay off our credit card debt. boo for being responsible, but yay for getting back on the budget train.

  • That first top and scarf just look so amazing on you!! Ugh, so jealous. πŸ™‚

  • I feel kind of bad… I didn't mean to act like a grouch about the StitchFix. It's my own fault for spending all my money on race registration πŸ™‚ I really would like to try StitchFix sometime. I don't think I realized you didn't have to get it every month. Maybe I will save up and splurge. All the stuff I see other bloggers wear is so cute. They really do a good job matching people with clothes, at least from what I've seen.

  • I am interested to see if I might like this! Is it generally around $200?

  • Amanda πŸ™‚ no apologize needed! I know the feeling of small budgets and choosing what we want to spend our money on!

but yes! You can just sign up for a box – it is not only a monthly subscription (unless you want that and can afford that!). you just fill out all the information and pick the date that you want the box to arrive (so it can even be a month or two in the future!)

  • Jess! mee tooo mee too! you should try it! I think it is a life saver for people like us!

  • Susan

I love that aztec top!! I have not had a ton of luck with Stitch Fix, but am trying it again this month! I am hoping for some great spring goodies! Susan

  • You really should! I think it is so fun and you really don't have much to lose! you can send it all back if you want!

  • SusanG

I'm getting my first Stitch Fix this month for my birthday, and I can't wait! I hope my picks are as cute as yours!

  • My friend Kassia has the Skylar jacket and I just LOVE it! I just scheduled my first fix for next month…still a little nervous about the cost, especially since I do enjoy shopping for myself, but excited about having someone pick out pieces that I might not normally choose!

  • Mandy

I just signed up!! This is perfect for me because I'm a nurse with no time. I can not wait to get my BoX!!!!

  • SO fun!! When do you get your box? I am way excited for you! And don't be too sad if your pieces don't fit they way you want the first time! Just leave super detailed notes about why they didn't fit when you send them back and that will help them find the perfect things for you! Enjoy!!

  • Girl! I love that jacket and wear it like every day πŸ˜‰ hahah. I am so excited! I know it is a bit pricey but if you get them all you get that 25% off and it is also just something fun to do occasionally! It is like a good hair cut – pricey, so fun, and very occasional! lol

  • yeah! A birthday box!

  • I am glad you are trying again! I think for some people it takes a couple bad boxes to come up with the perfect box! keep leaving detailed information when you send things back and even when you keep things!

  • In my experience yes, but you can put a note on your box if you want to keep it at a certain price range! I think you should try it! You really have nothing to lose because you can keep sending everything back until they figure your fit out perfectly! I love it for a little splurge! Like a treat. I don't shop a lot for myself so I just save my allowance for a couple months to pay for a box! I have loved all my pieces and wear them all the time!

  • hahah! Thanks. One day they will branch out of US shipping only!

  • thanks! Have you ever tried it?

  • I totally get the price holding you back thing! That was the same for me. Now I just save my allowance each month to pay for a box when I want it πŸ™‚ and I cut out like all other shopping. I am a sucker for the convenience! and by not shopiing ever sale, I am actually saving! lol. maybe you can save up and do something like this for your birthday or something! XOXO

  • thanks! It is my favorite and i wear it all the time. have you tried stitch fix?

  • Alyssa

Ooooo, love StitchFix! Just received my third box this month and that little box of fun with the tiffany blue circle on it makes me smile! I love that you can give them suggestions of what you would like (all tops, a dress and jacket, etc.). I love the styling card too, gives great ideas of how to coordinate outfits! I am so thankful that everything they have sent, has fit great! Glad to see you've tried it too…..loved all your pieces and you are just so stinkin cute!!

  • I didn't yet, because I'm in the process of losing weight. So when I've come to stop on it (and see what my new size is), I'll absolutely order it. πŸ™‚

  • Yes! I had my first fix back in October and am getting my third this week!

  • Z K

I finally jumped and signed up for my first fix. I've been on their mailing list for literally YEARS and just haven't had the guts to go for it. Especially with the last six months, their wait list is craaaaazy, so I've always held out since I don't know where I'll be by then. But I have mine locked in for late April so I can't wait to get it (and blog about it).

  • Julie San

    Love the sweater!

  • thanks!!! have you ever tried out Stitch Fix?

  • yes! i am so excited for you πŸ™‚ i hope you love it!

  • yes! I am glad you love it as much as I do!

  • Julie San

    Yes I do!

  • That is so fun! I love them!
