BARN LIFE: the barn the mister and i got married at is on the property of a sweet family. their daughter was getting married so they decided to build her a barn on their land in Woodland Park, CO and now they rent it out. it is unbelievably affordable and the Casey’s are so kind. i got two days – one for set up and one for the big day (that was such a blessing!). JUST SAYIN’ – if anyone in the Colorado Springs area is getting married i HIGHLY recommend this place!
BEFORE i knew i was going to marry Bruce, i knew i wanted to get married outside & by a barn. i am a colorado girl. chacos live on my feet and the mountains are my home. this was my dream venue and i was so blessed to find a place like this existed! one of my rules for brides that i talk about here is to not settle on the things that mean the most to you. this was one of the things that i was smitten with.
CEREMONY & SEATING: we used the side of the barn as our “alter.” we expected around 350 people and there was much more room for seating on the long side of the barn! if you look closely, you can tell that there are church chairs set up. yep. it is great having your soon-to-be father-in-law the paster of a church! we borrowed so much stuff! we also used the chairs to create an isle for me to walk down because every bride needs an isle!
we used giant logs, a sign in table, and some coolers of water to distinguish the seating area from the parking lot! it felt very organized and set a part. i was thrilled with how it turned out.
